superfreaks are the way to go...or if u can get them macs but you can only get them if u do a custom team order

I love my macs to death, but you have to get them with a team order like POCK3TS said. Freaks would work. (Similar to macs, but easier to get)

If you play modified, Hypnos would be a good choice. It has the same thumb as Superfreak/Mac goalies for a much more reasonable price.

new lax only if you wanna breack your fingers... warrior I think is the way to go goalie glove wise. I use the super stars because I got them cheap. the super stars have more protection but not even close to as much flexability as the freaks.

I use STX Shoguns. The thumb is massive on it. Ive taken a ton of shots to the hands with them and im not in any pain after practice. The only injury I got while using them was on my pinky, it got wrecked on a shot and was bleeding from both sides of the first joint, kind of wierd looking.

dont be hatin on the defts. theyre sick...but i agree that the thumb could use some work. i just tape on some extra pvc pipe so it helps a bit. this season though im gonna be rockin field deft customs. if im not usin those, ill be switchin through my royal blue ipro fields and my black ipro goalies. ipro goalies are probably one of the best goalie gloves right now.

superfreaks are amazing. if you have the money to spend (they are a bit pricey) then i would suggest them to everyone, they are really really nice

since i actually decided to read the post and notice that you said modified...i agree with endless, hypnos or chopper goalies would be best for that. if you really have an issue and need something a bit better, go with deft goalies or shogun goalies. for mod i wouldnt go much higher than that. all 4 of those are great quality and have great performance. but if you want to save some money and get something thatll work no matter what, go to masscloseouts.com and get some i2 or gladiator goalie or even field gloves...theyre both solid gloves, literally solid. the field is as durable and protective as most good goalie gloves.

ya superfreaks are the way to go or if you could find macs that would be even better. When it comes to protecting you hands you need to get something good.

Mac daddys are good but hes only playing modified. I play JV and I didnt want to spend that much on gloves, what if it doesnt work out? Then your screwed.

how do you get iPro goalies? are they like the macs where you have to get them through a team order, or do most places just not carry them? when i got my ipros i looked and looked for the goalie version but couldnt find them, so i just got the field version.

A store in town here actually has a pair or two of goalie iPro's. They shouldn't be that hard to come by. At the very least go to your local store (if you're still looking to buy a pair, that is) and just send in a request for a single pair of Goalie iPro's. Shouldn't be a problem.

Well, our team got custom iPros this years, and the coaches gave the goalies these plastic STX caps that go over the thumb of the glove. Im pretty sure you can by them on lax.com.

Yeah those caps are made of carbon fiber. "They turn any field glove into a goalie glove", they stick on using velcro.

sportsauthority.com had them so i got from there. you order through them and apparently they forward the order to the stx factory and they ship from there. also lacrossemonkey.com had black ones. not many places carry them, so i had to look around.

i actually prefer the field version over the goalie version when i am in goal. theyre more comfortable and theyre still protective. id switch between goalie and regular depending on who im playing.

modified is a level for 7th and 8th graders. its middle school lax basically. most school in new york state have it.

and as for the kings, the stx things are designed for all gloves so i dont see why they wouldnt. if they dont, just return them or try to sell them. id buy them off you if they dont.
