I just started playing goalie (HS freshman) and I am starting on jv because we have no other goalies. I was wondering if somone could put together a list of things to yell (helping) at the defense besides where the ball is.

just talk to your defensemen and coach and ask them what they want you to call

This has been discussed a number of times, so you should do a search on here, but here is a good link to get you started:

whatever calls you decide to make, take time at practice to talk to your defense first so they know what you mean when you make that call, its not a bad idea to even practice it so they get used to it.

there you go. try to keep your defence informed, and i've been told everyone does it different. Just tell the defence what they need to do and to correct anything they are doing wrong (remember to be niceand motivational!)

When a defenseman is going one on one against a guy starting at X, let him know when he is near or at the GLE.
Also, be sure you're an expert on the slide package your defense runs. Mostly, you can remind them to call out the backups. For example, depending on your slide pacakge and calls, you can say "who has right? who as left?" or "who is hot? who is cold?" Mostly, make sure your defense is talking.

call out cutters, whos hot, the slide etc...
another thing is consistancy. if there are 2 goalies, make sure u both are yelling the same thing.
like both of us always yell "go" instead of "slide"
and "squeeze" when a criver from x gets to gle so that the dman can push him back behind gle
