Is this a USB or PS/2 mouse? Is it a ball mouse? Check to make sure dust isn't jamming any of the rollers. Have you also tried restarting? Have you checked the mouse plugs in the back?

The exact opposite happened to me not long ago. The mouse worked but not the keyboard. I had 2 buy a new one. In the mean time I had to copy and paste letters to make posts on this site. It was so funny but a pain.

any mouse should work. in fact you should try borrowing someones to see if it works, cuz if you try several of them and none work, it may be something other than that particular mouse. if another one works, just buy one or find someone getting rid of one. frankly ill send you one if you wanna pay the shipping :P

The mx500 is what I'm using, sully. Wow, you're brilliant. Yay for sully! And great mouse usage!

Logitech and Microsoft, it's like Brine and STX. Well, I use the Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 . It's really sweet, I got it along with the Msoft Wireless desktop elite keyboard, very sweet combo. I recommend this mouse.

[Edit] almost forgot to mention, the mouse has a smooth rolling wheel, very very nice so it's not like turning a gear, and it's also a tiltwheel! meaning it can scroll from side to side. Even the keyboard has a scroll wheel.

Thanks Raine. I like the mx700, but it I dont need wireless, so might as well save myself 20 bucks and get a cord. I like the feel of he microsoft, but I dont like smooth scrolling. If youre a hard core gamer, they use the wheel to change weapons like in a FPS, and other things, so smooth isnt good. But me, I just dont like the feel. And the tilt wheel annoys me. The mx500 has forward and back buttons (<3), a quick program change (useful when you get used to it, and other scrolling buttons "cruise control" i believe its called. Anywyas, I rambled too mucha bout a silly mouse.

What you said is true, I miss not being able to use the wheel in games like Halo, but I just love how my hand fits right over the mouse. Sometimes when my wrist hurts, it's also nice to just relax my right hand and use the keyboard scroll, and back + forwards.
