how many girls had to play boys lax earlier or still do i live in KY and theres still a girl on a d2 team that we dont play but apparantly she likes it better than girls lax which i think is cool
I hate that. I would never be allowed to play girl's lacrosse, why should they be able to play men's lacrosse?
Because basically, other than the name and the ball they two totally different games. I would not have a problem with it as long as she EARNED her spot on the team.

a few years back there were 2 girls on my team(mod). We didn't have a girls team back then but they talked to our AD and because they stuck it out the entire season they got a girls team the next year. neither one was very good but i give them credit for playing the entire year

I played boys' back in youth. There was no girls' lacrosse program back then, so there were a few of us girls that played. By the time I was old enough to play modified though, there was a girls' team so the girls switched over because of the opportunity that existed (I took a few years off though). I know of a few other girls who didn't have the opportunity of girls' lax though, and played through high school or until they finally got a progam of their own.
Anyways, I never had any big problems with the boys and I'm still really close to a lot of them to this day. Youth isn't exactly the same as HS, but as long as you want to be there to play lacrosse, follow the rules and earn your spot, I could care less who's playing with who. Both games are definitely different, and I've always thought that playing one helps you in the other.

i wouldn't care, infact we have a girl on our team. she is one of the best players. heck, I would play with a monkey if it knew how to play lacrosse and was half decent.

We have a girl on our team and she is the only female player in Norway (she started playing girls' lax in Houston, but there are no women's teams here...yet. She is also one of the hardest working and most reliable on the team.

Couple years ago one of our best players was a girl. Little unusual at first but everyone seemed to adjust pretty quickly and she was just another player. Few girls this yr on the team thinking about playing boys.

id have no problem with some of the girl lacrosse players i know being on the guys team... i just dont know if they would be able to handle the physical aspect of the game and be able to take hard hits from guys. if they could though then i would support them entirely

I'd rather play boys lacrosse than girls. Everyone thinks we're so dainty and we shouldn't be getting hurt, so they're making more rules to make the game more difficult and less contact. If girls sign up for lacrosse, they should expect to get hurt and not allow a couple of bruises and broken bones to change the game entirely. LAME.

if girls can play boys lacrosse, mainly field, then why dont more come out to play then? or if girls want a more phyisical game then change the rules for girls to be more aggresive and allow more stuff that guys do, so you girls speak up and say something.

No. I do not, under any circumstances, think that a girl should be allowed to play mens lacrosse. But that could just be me.

True. We can't play girls lacrosse, why should they be able to play with us.

Because just like you, if we have the opportunity to play our version of the sport, we cannot play for the boys' team (as you would not be able to play girls').
As for speaking out, it's much harder than you might think. A good number of people in control of making the rules right now are still "traditionalists", in other words, they would prefer to see it as a less violent, aggressive sport that it once truly was. They aren't adapting to the female athlete in this day and age, and believe that the sport the way it was many years ago is better and should remain unchanged. You wouldn't believe how long it takes to get even most common sense issues changed. There are people speaking up everyday, but it doesn't change the fact that things probably won't change too much until those people leave.
And, for the rest of you, we're not going to get into it, but if you truly wanted to play lacrosse and didn't have the opportunity to play boys', you can play girls'. It might take a lot of effort and you'll probably be ridiculed, but the laws are set up so that you can play girls' lacrosse if you truly don't have the opportunity to play on a boys' team. With that, we're going to end the disscussion of boys' not being able to play girls'. This thread wasn't created for that purpose and if there is any more discussion about it in this thread, your posts will be deleted.

i signed up for a guys lacrosse camp once by accident
it was ok for me to go cuz i knew the coaches[ they teach at my school]
and i found that guys lacrosse was really really fun.
i was also really good at it and the coaches really want me on their
team except my school already has a girls team heh.
but i guess they are totally different games and really if girls want
to play guys lacrosse they should be able to but i dont think
most parents would disagree with me on that issue because they dont
want their girls getting hurt
but thats what i think on the issue

i think we already cleared this up. guys can play girls lax if they dont have a guys team and vice versa. i think its really stupid how all the guys think that they cant play girls lax when girls play guys lax.

I don't know what's so challenging about reading my posts and listening to what I say, but apparently it's a little bit too much to ask from you guys. I specifically said to drop the whole boys can't play girls' lax topic. We've had problems in the past with this topic and this thread isn't even meant for that topic. Next time I say something, I expect you to listen. I'm not going to hand out any warnings this time, but next time when a mod asks members to stop, don't continue doing what you were told not to. Because you guys can't seem to grasp that concept, I'm going to close this thread for the time being.
