UVA - Princeton : CRAZY GAME!

Man, what an amazing game. It was neck-and-neck until the last minute and thirty seconds. UVA pulled ahead and Kip blocked one from off the crease to win the game. Tierney was crying the entire game about everything. One guy got checked and the ball flew out of bounds, so Tierney shouted "IT WAS A SHOT!" At the end, UVA ran onto the field and they got flagged... like they were gonna send their whole team to the box for a minute.

Was anyone else there?

Yes, I was there. After the final horn, Tierney, the Princeton head coach, followed the head ref around screaming and yelling. After a while, the ref threw a flag, very high in the air BTW. Several seconds later, a different ref threw a flag on the Princeton assistant coach. Tierney always screams and yells. My guess is that a few four letter words came into play this time ----

I wonder if he gets fined ?? I doubt they would make players serve time at the beginning of their next game ?? Does anybody know?

NOT related to that, the UVA bench ran on the field to mob the goalie, Kip Turner, who had a GREAT game. He outplayed Alex Hewit, the first team All-American goalie. UVA's bench always goes out to get to the goalie after a game. Sometimes it's a few guys, sometimes practically whole bench. They never get flagged for this. The game is over and they are not doing anything illegal or inappropriate. I'm pretty sure I've seen other teams do this.

Tierney is short and skinny, but screams like he is a monster. He was eating up the refs all game. Also, the entire game was sick. Rubeor with 24 seconds left. Second best game I have ever been too. First was Salisbury v. Cortland game.

ya i was there with my team, we were on a trip, but that was a very exciting game. kip was on fire. although princeton was up early uva fought back. and after the game i was in awe when i saw timms, kip, drew thompson, etc. walk past me. and drew thompson was standing right in front of my car so i got his autograph on a ball.

Yeah Crummy, that game was insane. I went on the same trip as he did and I was lucky enough to see something that huge up close and live. My hat goes off to Kip Turner. He was on fire. What I didn't understand though was Alex Hewit's style of play. What I noticed is that he would bait the shooter strong side, but they would beat him. You would think that he would stop doing that after letting up so many.
