So practice is always tough. i was just wondering what some are some of the toughest drills you've had to do in practice

Mine is probably hills: we practice on top of this good sized hill (it's flat on the top) and we had to give piggy back rides to our teammates while sprinting up it. after already sprinting and backpedaling it several times. ya, that killed.

Hills are tough! We had to do these weird polymetrics or something like that then sprint. We did that for what seemed like forever. My legs were so sore and still are four days later

talk about death :chair: the worst thing that I have ever had to do is run a mile and half was sprinting... that seems so easy now.

Im not a girl but the hardest thing we did was sprint 5 perimeters then we sprint jogged sprint jogged 4 corners..then sprinted the sideline and had to shoot and if we didnt make the shot we sprinted back down field and did it again..this was all without stopping..like 7 kids threw up right after this cause it was at the end of practice..it sucked.

Wow.
I'll be able to look at my practices in a new light from now on...
Seriously, thanks.

We had to run with the track teammmm it sucked

3/4 of a mile run to a hill

the hill is about 80yrds and gradually inclines

5 sprints starting in push up position
backpedel up twice
power skip once
lunge once

in between hold pushup postion 1 min 30 secs
chop feet 45 seconds
hold arms up for 3 minuters palms up

then 2 frankenstien runs (run with arms out in front)
then 2 sprints with hands behind our back
then 1 sprint from pushup postion

then 3/4 of a mile back to the school

then 8 military pushups then a hold for 30 seconds
^when u are in a sq and ur grp puts their legs on each other backs

then 2 lap cooldown run

only break was jogging back down the hill

We did those up down things you see in football. You know the things where you like quick step then drop to push up position then go back up and repeat. we did those for like 30 minutes and that killed us. We are only in 7th grade... :-P

something called sevens... one 30 yd sprint, then your partner goes, 2 30s, partner, 3 30s...etc, and once you get to seven, you go back down...we did this 3x in a row in the middle of practice, and ran a mile at the end (indian sprints)

10 120's, 15seconds to sprint down the length of the field, 30 seconds to jog back to the other side.

By far the hardest thing coach has us do is the large rubberband resistant training. For those not familiar with this a coach(which is usually a large man) hols the two ends of a huge oversized rubber band and the other is around your waist. You have to sprinty 100 yards as fast as you can while the coach is trying to pull you back. After you are done your legs feel like jello.

we had this drill 2 years ago... the 6 LINE DRILL!!!! (we also added OF DEATH after the first 5 minutes)

we had six lines alternating attack and defense. We had like 15 girls on the team that could run at that point. A ground ball would go down between attack and d, whoever got it had to sprint to the other end of the field and score. You had to pass it to your other 2 players, in a consecutive order before shooting. After running the entire way and shooting you had to sprint back. When the first group was halfway the second had to go. And if we weren't back at the start by the next whistle we wouldn't have enough for the drill and had to run windsprints.

try that for an hour until you did 6 in a row flawlessly.

haha

I would have to say plates. We don't do them in practice but we do them in performance training in the off season. We push 45 pound weight plates across a floor for five minutes. Shoot me.

The hardest thing my team has ever done in practice is what we dubbed the "fan drill of death". The entire team sprints around the fan and behind the goal in sort of a circle. then the person at the front of the line has to fight for a ground ball with a defender who's always hanging out in the fan, and then get around her and go one on one with the keeper until she scores. the keeper can clear as far away as she wants (once she cleared onto the tennis court) and the shooter has to run, get the ball, come back, and try again until she scores. All the while, the rest of the team is sprinting around the fan. The entire team has to score before it's over.

After doing this every day for a week, our team cut the time down to about five minutes, but at the beginning, it took about a half an hour. We were dying.

Also, we run two miles at the beginning of each practice. Once, our coach made us carry weights with our arms straight out (frankenstein) for the entire two miles. Hell.

probably straight sprinting for like 45 mins straight.

it became mighty difficult after a while.

practicing at our school...which happens to be on top of a hill in the middle of nowhere. we had to practice out in the snow over spring break while our varsity team was inside and half our team was on vacation on the beach. we had to be outside for 2 1/2 hours.

and my coach repeating his words of wisdom...

"just think, when we play all those city schools that dont practice in the snow we will be able to handle the cold better than them and win"

haha yeah...hard to think positive when u cant feel ur hands =)

hoppeys are horrible. we'd have to sprint the football field and back drop and do 20 pushups and then get up and sprint it again and if u came in first u get to rest the last one and we all love that

uhh fo us...wind sprints...ughh. if you knwo what they are, you know they suck haha. if you dont ill dop a quick rundown of what you do.

you stand at the end of a gym/field whatever. weve done it in both ebfore but il go the gym route. what you have to do is, he will yell "1st Quarter!" aand you have to run to a like about,10 yards away, to a line, their and back 3 times, then all the way to the other side of the gym and abck. then he yells, "2nd Quarter!" and you have to do that same thing, but 2 times. then he yells "3rd quarter" and we have to do it 3 times in a row ahah
and then nagins 4 for the 4th quarter. and fi we dont do them to his standards or it looks like w eare not trying, he yells overtime, and we have to do it as many times as he want till weve given enough effort. its funnnnnnn

sprint up a 70 degree incline in 6:55? must've been hard with the ropes, ice axes and crampons. 70 degrees approaches vertical -- no one goes a mile UP a 70 degree slope in 6:55. It would be hard to run down a 70 degree slope in 6:55 without gettting seriously hurt. Dude, why even bother to post such a blatant lie.
