I have an Impulse head and bought a Harrow Title IX tapered flex shaft to go with it. They don't fit very well! (whoops!) The head is a bit rattly, doesn't feel solid, and the screw keeps on coming out again.
I really love both the head and the shaft so I want them to work together, what can I do? Please help. Thanks!

Actually. I was wondering if they fit.
The deBeer envy and a harrow shaft.

put some athletic tape on the shaft, it shouldn't take too much.....before you put the head on...if the hole is stripped you can change the side...

mmm it should fit fine, mine did...did you use the right screw size for the hole? did you take out the white adapter from the head?

the white collar didn't work on the Warrior composite....make sure u use a self-tapping screw....

Thanks for the advice. I did take out the white adaptor because it wouldn't fit with it. I tried some athletic tape but maybe I need more. I could only just force the head back on but for some reason it still rattles!
What's a self-tapping screw? Sorry to be so ignorant!

lilibeth - what position do you play?
Do you like the harrow shaft other than the fitting error?
I want a new shaft, so yeah.
Others - Does the harrow shaft fit most sticks? Like the debeer heads? (Envy)

lilibeth - a self tapping screw is one that has sharp threads so that it will cut its own hole as you install it. If the screw keeps coming out, it means that there is not enough material left in the hole the screw created to hold it in place firmly (many people would say that it has nothing left to "bite" into). This can most easily remedied by removing the head, and rotating it 180 degrees from where it was (the hole the screw created will now be hidden under the front side of the head). Add more tape and replace the head, repeating until there is no rattle...then install the screw. Installing and removing the screw too many times will cause it to become loose. Also, when you do install the screw, don't overtighten it.
nclaxkid - yes, the Harrow shafts will fit most heads including most of those manufactured by DeBeer including the Envy. Most WLAX heads use a reducing collar so that they can fit a reduced diameter WLAX shaft. Harrow Title IX shafts don't require the use of the reducing collar because the ends of the shafts increase slightly in size. They call it their "Sure-Fit Tapered Crown." I actually just assembled a Harrow/Envy combination for a player last week and she reports it suits her needs quite nicely. I am currently assembling a Harrow/Impulse combination for another player and am certain it will suit this players needs quite nicely as well.

Thanks for the advice! Much appreciated.
nclaxkid - where I live, we all play midfield. There's no restrainer, we play 8 a side, or 9 a side, or however many we can and still have subs. It's very casual. I used to live in another country where I played point defense for a couple of seasons, but switched to attack, which I'm enjoying now my stick skills are better.
in terms of the Harrow shaft, I love it. I had a quick trial with a friend's before I bought it so I knew what I was getting. Would never ever go back to a plain shaft now. I loved the Heroine but the coating chipped off within a season and it got sticky. Also I like the tapered flex point. It's the perfect position for cradling for me. I had issues that it's not where I would put my top hand to throw or shoot, but someone on the forum pointed out that the flex point (tapered bit) is for a harder shot/pass, not for placement of your hand, as it apparently 'bends' when you throw with your hand at the bottom of the flex point.
Not sure if that makes sense! But I really love the Harrow shaft, it's made a bit difference in my play. Probably the only thing I don't like is that the bit that isn't tapered is a bit fatter than I would like. That part is slightly fatter than the Heroine. So if they made it a bit skinner that would be perfect for me.

i know this question doesn't deal with a harrow fitting in the head, but my harrow is too long, would i have to go to a store to get it cut down or could i get my dad to cut it down with some sort of tool? how short would anyone recommend i cut it..i play center, and i know it is better to have a long shaft, but right now it is too long and i can't control the stick as well as i could with a shorter one

A hacksaw should be able to deal with it. If not, ask your dad to use a table saw on it, that surely will do the trick.

Hey everyone, thanks for the advice. I just took it to a hardware store and they put in a bigger screw for me. Now it doesn't rattle. Yay! And I have extra tape to put on it in case it starts rattling at some stage again. But it's looking pretty solid.
(Such a simple solution!)

The website above talks about the a harrow shaft and fitting a alien head onto it. (even though both are harrow, they do not fit) It talks about different things they did to make it fit. It could be helpful. Well good luck!
