GAH! Retainers suck!

Okay, I just got my braces off. (Double the sexiness, ladies!) Now, today, I have a stupid retainer. It sucks. I can't talk, breath, swallow, spit, anything. Icks dwivig mee ihsahne. That's retainer talk, right there.

Do you have to wear it all the time or just at night?

i got these clear 1's that just go around my teeth.. it doesnt go on the roof of your mouth.. it's great, they gave ma a choice of the 1 that sucks and goes on the top of your mouth and pisses everyone off or a clear 1 that you can see that just goes on your teeth.. man when i got my braces off it was great.. lol nothing stuck in the braces

Allada time. I have 4, a permanent one for the bottom, a clear bottom one for the night, a clear top one for the day, and a regular one for night on top. And all the top ones cover the roof of my mouth. The permanent one goes on the back of my teeth.

what do they do to get the glue stuff off of your teeth? and, be thankful, i know kids who have had braces multiple times.

i got two baby teeth on my bottom row... and they have nothing underneath them, so i'm stuck with baby teeth exposed

they use a combination of ultraviolet light(something like that), liquid, and dremel tool. its not fun at all.

i actually had 2 rows of teeth in the front

^sounds nasty man. Anyway make sure you wear your retainers because if you dont they have to make new ones and you know what that means..... MORE IMPRESSIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY. When I first had an impression I threw up. hahaha

same with me.. i always start gagging. when they take impressions. and they had to take 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom because they needed 1 for molding the retainers and then 1 for a model. Bummer :(

Yeah, it hearts like the ****ens to have all that glue removed. I have no idea why. Stupid teeeeeth! And I almost choked getting molds before realizing Hey! I do have a nose!

if you think your teeth are fixed, tell him to take them off. i had them for 3 years and ever since 1.5 years in he was saying "not much longer"..."only a few months now". after another year and a half of him saying that i was like ufcluk this . no more braces for me.

i have braces, and the taking off of the glue is quite frightening.

Actually, if the permanent retainer is glued behind your back teeth, it's not really a big deal. I mean, for the first week, it holds the flavor of food (just like braces!) and then you go on, and it becomes part of you. I'm learning to talk. But I lost both retainers sleeping last night. At least I still have one. Stupid hands. I can't wear in gloves to wear them in while I'm sleeping either. My hands rip them off. Stupid things.

No, because its glued in. So that my teeth stay amazingly beautiful. On the bottom.

i got the clear ones...plus the normal wired ones...

i'm suppose to wear the normal ones, but i always wear the clear instead..

i got marble blue with calvin (from calvin and hobbes) on my normal ones

When I had my retainer (a normal plastic top one), the wire that goes in front of my front teeth broke off, and it was much more comfortable after that.

I imagine it would be more comfortable. I mean, everything is more comfortable, if it stops harming you.

i got my braces off over a year ago and i just have to wear my retainers at night now. but they told me i'm going to have to wear them the rest of my life.

Lucky for me, I dont need braces, I have straight teeth. Now all I need to have done is have a baby tooth pulled.

yeah when i had rubberbands- i was supposed to wear them 24/7 for a month, i wore them for 1 before my next appointment... the ortho said "wow your teeth look great, you must have really been wearing those rubberbands, cause your bite is beautiful!" i just laughed inside

I got the ones that you cant take out, which is good because I would probably loose them
