My daughter just ordered two new Debeer Tempests. She doesn't want the traditional stringing that the heads came with. She wants me to string them both with the Trigger pocket. The problem is that the Tempest scoop has the traditional four holes for leathers. It appears that the Trigger pocket is designed to be installed on heads that have multiple scoop holes like the Torque for example. So none of the holes line up where the Trigger needs to be attached to the scoop. Any suggestions. Or do i have to use the Trakker or Trakker Pro with this scoop.

I'm not exactly sure how, but couldn't you somehow use a topstring? I've seen it done a couple times, when people used a really thick tight topstring and connected the leathers to it.

yeah i'll try that. maybe do the topstring like i'm stringing a piece of mesh and then find a way to tie the runners so that they don't shift around side to side. thanks

believe me i searched, there isn't much of anything on here when it comes to stringing womens heads. FLD's Trigger thread does show pic's of what he did but it doesn't apply to my problem because his head had the other scoop holes in between 1&2 and 3&4.
when i get the heads tuesday i'll play around with the topstring idea for the scoop. or i could take a chance and carefully drill two holes for the outside runners. but drilling a brand new head is something i'd rather not do.
celtlax was nice enough to send me a PDF of the Trigger stringing instructions so once i get the topstring thing figured out the rest should be a piece of cake.

heres how i did my trigger
i started a regular topstring between holes 1&2 i put the runner in by putting the string through the hole at the top and repeated the other two runners

Why does your daughter want the Trigger pocket? You could always drill holes where they are needed or try to mess with the top string (doesn't sound very consistant to me), but IMO, a traditional pocket will be much better for her anyways. If she doesn't have a good reason for wanting the Trigger pocket, try to convince her that a traddy or custom pocket will better suit her.

i bought her a brine xcel w/ trad. pocket a few years ago so she could play with my son and i. we worked at it, but the pocket never really broke in very well. she got frustrated and lost interest. i put a trakker in it last week and now she is doing pretty well with it. she wants to sign up for the local youth program. so in her mind the problem was the trad pocket. she's a 6th grader this year, so school lacrosse next year if she likes it. i ordered the tempests because i think i'll be able to string an even deeper pocket in it because of the low sidewalls.
i'll explain that the traditional is better for her. but she's very stuborn, a little know it all sometimes. she did love a pita i strung on one of my sticks last year. pita's are legal in womens lax, right?

yes, as long as the depth is legal

A trakker is going to take a lot longer to break in than traditional. Maybe it was just the factory stringing? I don't know, but the pita should work fine. There's a lot more to the legality than the depth of the pocket, but I doubt refs will be checking it at her age. Even if you didn't string it right, I doubt she's ever get caught.
