What's the best source for unstrung women's heads? I used to do a lot of stringing of boy's sticks, but now I'm coaching girls. One of them broke my stick, and I had an unstrung ATK head, that I strung with a Trakker Pro. I had forgotten how much fun stringing a pocket was! I actually like it better than my daughter's ATK with the "precision pocket." I'd like to try some Pita pockets, etc.

Are you looking for pockets, or where to find unstrung heads? On most sites you can simply click an "unstrung" drop down box instead of a strung head. If you're looking for ideas, you can pretty much take a lot of mlax customs and modify them to meet wlax regualtions.

I'm looking for the heads, so I can string them. It seems like some of you know where the bargains are!

I think Sports Her Way still sells Tempests for $35, although they might not come in very pleasing colors. That was the only major deal I've ever seen, other than that you can pretty much get unstrung heads anywhere. If you want a better deal, you just have to search around like any other product.

Wow. Stringing girls sticks?
See, my deBeer Envy head's strings always falls apart and I'm constantly shipping my head back and getting a new one. So, I'm wondering how to string.
I've strung a boy's stick, but it was the STX one. It was pretty simple.
Do any of the girls stringing kits come with step by step directions? (or just directions)
If so, which website sells them?
Added: Which deBeer pocket do you guys think is the easiest to string and is good?

I used the Debeer Trakker Pro kit. I thought the instructions were adequate, at best, and I used to string a lot of different guy's pockets (Pita, Trad, etc.). I think it would be pretty easy for you if you had a friend's stick to compare it to.

Yes, you can definitely string wlax heads. There is no reason to send it back the company when a string breaks, in fact, I'm almost surprised they even accept such a return.
If you're going to take the time to string up a stick, get a plain traditional kit and do that. In my opinon, traditional strung heads will give you more advantages than synthetic ones. Basically, if you're going to bother to take the time to string your own head, do it with something that's going to give you the most. Also, you can find directions on how to string up plain traditional anywhere if you don't understand the directions that should come with the kit (on here, lax.com, even STX has directions I believe). Looking at a real stick in front of you also helps as you can look at it more closely.

This is why I love this site.
Everyone always tries to help.
Thank you so much for your responses.
I'm definitely going to string a wlax head now.
I do have two different deBeer sticks. So, I can refer to them.
Thanks again for your help, I appreciate it.

yeah...I'd have to agree with lilaxgurl that the step by step directions are pretty much useless...from personal experience, it is much easier to look at an already strung head and figure it out. the directions give you the order in which to do everything though. so i'd use a combination of both.

Don't be afraid to put in some time searching different retail sites for the best prices. Most will offer the "unstrung" option as lilaxgurl mentioned. Prices will at times vary widely. Even if I have to order a specific head that is strung, I will almost always remove the factory pocket and restring it myself. For the high school teams I've coached, I put everyone through stringing 101 and have them all string a traditional pocket. I think understanding well strung pockets are often overlooked as important in the WLAX game, especially at the youth levels. I applaud anyone who takes up stringing, especially WLAX heads. So nclaxkid...have at it...but please...please learn how to interlock your knots correctly. There is a good tutorial here: http://www.lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=52264
