Hey everyone, This is my first post so I hope this question hasn't already been asked. Here goes. I'm a freshman who made varsity and our first hs game is tomorrow. The problem is I'm one of the best players on the team. Please don't think I'm bragging. This is only because I have played club for alot of years and the other girls on the team have not really played that much before. My question is this: I know I could probably score alot and get alot of draws, etc, but I don't want the upperclassmen thinking I'm a ball hog or something. Should I go all out and try and win the game for our team (our school hardly ever wins) or should I hold back, pass alot (some hardly ever pass to me), hold back on the groundballs, etc and maybe our team won't do so well. I am really torn. Please advise me. Thanks.

Why don't you ask your coach? I would be surprised if she told you to "hold back". Maybe if you have a 10+ goal lead over your opponent, but that's another story.

GO ALL OUT!!! By you playing at your best those around you will strive to be as good and will work just as hard. Lacrosse is a team sport and if you are that much better help out your team and help them to get better. Insted of hogginf the ball get the draw then make a nice pass or set up one of your teamates with a nice draw and dump for an easy goal. No matter what play 100% all the time!

hey, well we played our first game and lost by 1 but that was almost like a win because they lost last year 15-4. I took you guys advice and played hard. I still passed and a couple of times people passed to me. I feel more confident now. The upperclassmen seemed ok with me scoring, etc. I hope our team builds on this close loss and has a winning season (would be the first in school's history).
