hey, easter is coming up and i decided that i wanted to get my 7 year old sister a girls stick. i know nothing about womens sticks, so i wanted to know what would be a good (hopefully not to exspensive) stick for her. also, should i maybe loosten the leathers for her so the pocket is a little deeper?
thanks

no, becuase their just gonna have to be tightened in a real game, and you dont want to rely on a deep pocket when you are young, because you can do it later on.

yea i was there the other day and they have a lot, so i just wanted to know what was a fairly decent stick, because i dont want to get some really bad one.
also, seeing as there is no girls league around here until highschool, i just thought maybe it would be better to teach her how to cradle and pass and then tighten the leathers. would this be a bad idea?

Loosen up the leathers but keep it legal. The ball should be a bit visible above the top sidewall, kinda like it has to be above the bottom sidewall for guys.
As for a stick, depends on your price range. Go with a brand you'd use yourself, I guess.

i was thinking a brine whirl, not too exspensive, and it looks good...anyone know anything about it?

personally i'm not a fan of brine. the warrior one for kids looks good, it reminds me of the debeer apex which a lot of people love. for a girl that age, you can start her off with a pocket taht is legal for i believe 3rd through 6th graders...having the ball just above teh bottom sidewall, then 7th and 8th is the top sidewall. then she can learn to play the game first and then slowly adjust to hs rules

When I was younger, I went to play it again sports. They helped me adjust the shaft and restrung the strings so the ball would be easy to catch.
Also yesterday I went to support my neighbor (6 years old) and alot of the little girls had the deBeer apex island dreams. They are colorful and sold at sport stores. She plays in a league that is 6-9 years old. The younger, smaller girls had small sticks. So I guess it depends on size?

if shes that young i woulnd't get her anything too advanced. you could try just a simple stick like a brine netfinder. if she learns to play on something like that, then when she upgrades to a better stick like a debeer, shell have stick skills.

I do agree. When I started out the first time EVER. I used a boy's stick. Then as my skills were better I moved onto deBeer.

wow the debeer island dreams are a little pricy for young kids at that age, good luck
