I wasnt sure if i should put this in the genral or goalie forum, so i just put it in the general. Anyway, thats not the point. For goalie training i wanted to get a really wide attack/mid/d head, and put it on my goalie shaft. I was wondering if anyway has any suggestions for a cheap WIDE head(soorry for soo long)
Thanks!

excaliburs (sp?) and x2's are really wide heads. Almost any entry level head.

Brine Edge is great, but the only place I've found them sells them for $80. But that's including the stick too.

you might want to try the STx shadow. technically it's a goalie head, but it's very, very small, almost the size of a mini-eclipse.

you can take a wide head and reverse pinch it or take a goalie stick and pinch it

i know it would be stupid, but pinching a goalie head legal or illegal?

techanially any pinch is illegal because it is an altercation of the product. as long as you pinch it so it is within the legal dimensions it will be fine. search the boards cause I don't know the goalie dimensions of the top of my head

make sure you get head thats not offset that way it feels more natural like a goalie stick... Or if you have an offset goalie stick then it wouldn't matter... My goalie uses a goalie power trainer and a brine Guru to warm up.

just wondering...isnt the point of using an attack/mid head to use a smaller head. isnt getting a really wide one kind of defeating the purpose? wouldnt you want a really narrow head?
but anyways i suggest the proton. its solid enough for taking shots and wide enough for what you want.

It would be tough with any field head..using an AV8 would just be a little lee-way versus a Primer.

Our goalies did this last year... they woudl warm up with a stx shadow (mini eclipse goalie head) and put it on a warrior weighted shaft thus making the stick heavy and the head small...great idea for a training aid

I have changed my mind. the widest (and crappiest) is the Ballhog. I know it's a difficult angle, but it's the best l could find.

Stx Vector.
the vector is actually quite pinched you must be thinking of the viper, and you could try to unpinch or widen a head, I'm not sure how you would go about doing that though.

EDGE. I have one and it is at least a half inch wider than a proton. Though you would have to get one off a trade because they are no longer in production.
