i have a lacrosse game on a saturday for my high school team (which is very good, we went 13-2 for the past two years) against a school that is kind of our rivals in lacrosse and it will be a really big game. the problem is that i already said that i would go to the haverford (a d3 school) junior visitation day for athlete recruiting. i really dont want to miss the game as it will also help my stats and i have friends on the other team, but i dont want to miss the college day either. the reason i am thinking about not going to the college day is because i have already talked to both the lacrosse coach and the field hockey (which i also want to play) coach at haverford and i have seen the campus already. there is absolutely no way i can go to both. i just dont know what to do and help would be appreciated!

i would say the game. it seems like you already have a pretty good feel for the school, and i'm sure you're team needs/wants you to be there.

Go to the game, call/email the coaches and tell them what's up. You can reschedule the visit and actually take a one on one tour with the coaches, which will be even better than the junior day anyways. Also, it's not like you can make up the game, it's a one time deal. So, go to the game, reschedule a visit later to the college, and enjoy your saturday playing some lacrosse!

Yeah, exactly what lilaxgurl said.

Go to the game and contact the coaches about meeting another time, they will understand.

thanks! thats kind of what i was leaning towards. but my mom really wants me to go to the junior day because she said that i will get a feel for the team and the different recruits. but i think im going to play in my game because i already missed one game this year because of a concussion and i really dont want to miss another one

On your reschedule, you'll probably get to meet the team and even get a closer look at them and the coach, so don't worry about that. You also have plenty of time to head up for multiple visits to make sure you got the feel for everything. I actually went up to the school I'm going to next year about 4 times before I was set on going there (one campus visit, one with just the coach giving me a tour and talking to me, one for their camp and one for their OV). Don't make a decision if you're not 100% set on it, so even if you were to go Saturday, don't be afraid to go back. You can never see too much of a school that you're interested in!

i would go to the college. college can impact the rest of your life, and this one game is only an hour. compared to the rest of your life, its not so important.

I don't know if you've been on any junior days yet, but I can tell you that missing one is not the end of the world. Most coaches are going to understand that you're inseason and that it takes priority. Most will probably even tell you your season is more important than junior day if they know that you have a game that day (I know when taking OVs you usually schedule them around your fall sport, and that's not even lacrosse you're usually playing). Not to mention there are many other opportunities to get a good look at the college. College is extremely important, don't get me wrong, but attending or not attending a junior day is not the end of the world. Like I said, you'll probably get a better experience and look at the college on a visit when it's just one on one with the coach anyways.
