Has anyone been an exchange student? I'm thinking of either being one or hosting a kid. I'm really interested in it.

i've never been an exchange student or hosted one, but one of my close friends did, and ended up loving it. she was hosting a girl from germany, and they ended up becoming like inseperable (sp?) best friends until the girl had to go back for germany
i'd say go for it, either as a host or the exchange student, i'm sure it would be at the very least, a very eye-opening experience, if not a great time as well

What country would you go to? There's a kid in my Spanish class from Germany, staying with a family in town, I think he's enjoying it but I'm sure it's different when it's the other way around (US-->another country)

I would like to go to England, or Germany. I wouldnt mind Brasil. Hosting would be fun, as long as they can speak English.

One of my friends, went to Germany last year and is now hosting an exchange student at his house. We are teaching him to play lacrosse.

That's funny. Both of our current Brasilian exchange students are playing lacrosse.

My friend on mt lax team, and my mom's close friend both hosted a child from Ireland. I would love to do it considering my grandparents are from Ireland and I'm like 95% Irish. I hung out with their exchange kids and it was a pretty good time.

At our school, the exchange students come for an entire school year. There are some major hotties. :)

is the whole foreign exchange program through the school?? or like is it more private? because i know our school has exchange students but for some reason ive never heard of an actualy program at our school and it tends to be discreet (sp?) about the whole concept

This kid that goes to my high school and was on the hockey team hosted a player on the hockey team, after the coach sent out an email saying he couldn't be hosted by a rival town, kinda recruiting
