Okay so I searched for something similar to this.. and didn't find anything. So sorry Mods.
I haven't been skateboarding in awhile. And I just started back on it a few days ago. I was okay, with the tricks I guess. I had a solid kickflip, but I can't remember how I started off. I never really knew the technicalities (wow sp?) of it, because one I got it I'd just do it off of muscle memory.
How do you guys starts?
And, any tips to help me get back into it?

There's a website on how to do all of these tricks but it slips my mind right now. Hold on.
Here's a google search link: http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=how+to+do+skateboard+tricks
Hope I could help.

Cool. You're the first girl that skateboards I've seen in forever.
I just do kickflips like ollies, but kick the nose back to the left with a little ankle/toe flick thing, and use the free foot to catch the tail once it spins.

theres two different ways you could do it. both involve your front foot being slightly angled.
1st- take your front foot at a slight angle... ollie and kick your front foot out in front of your board... wait for the flip and catch
2nd- take your front foot at a slight angle, ollie and kick down and behind you, wait for flip and catch

The first way is a lot easier. Thsi took me forever to learn. I could always get it 1 footed but i couldnt get both feet on it. So the flip is the easy part, but most people have the mistake of dropping their front foot after they flick the board, so just flick outward/frontward and remember to bring it back

alright pop the tail as hard as you can have your front foot already turned and shove it right at the nose and remember alot of people dont do this but stay over your board. remember the harder you shove at the nose the higher it goes. g'luck

i get my front foot down lower and then push down on the tail and down with your other foot to make the board flip super fast. this also is my way of doing my douuble kickflip
