Well, I just sold all my goalie equip because it was getting too small. Well, now I have 550 dollars, and I was wondering what stuff you guys would recomend.

well i dont know what u mean by goalie: and im really not the one to tell u a good pole but as far as the chest pad goes id have to say the best way to buy that is to go to a local shop and try on what they have but i would recommend any of the warrior ones. for the head id say eclipes or nemi and 12d mesh. the throat id have to go with the cascade clear one.

i think most people would know what im going to say, but first go with a good chest protector. im a fan of the supercrosse, but the new pc guard and the sentinel are good pads. gloves, go with glads if you can find them, very scarce, and if not go with defts or something. try on gloves, regular gloves too because you can just buy the thumb attachments for them. throat, as Y-28 said, clear cascade one is the way to go. shaft, id say something like the klyte, 803, kpro, titan pro, something like that. its your discretion, whichever you like. head is the same, i prefer nemesis to anything but also your choice. but as most people say, id stay around the nemesis or eclipse as choices, and go with 20d or 12d for a pocket.

All I really want to say in this thread is to stay away from the STX Chopper CP's. I have the smallest size, and its still really baggy. I got hit with a shot in the chest because of it. As far as a pole, go with the kpro or a 803. As for the heads, just get one that you like. The sentinel looks pretty cool, or maybe even try out the eraser.

Here we go:
Helmet - Cascade CPX TI
Reason - it's one of the most comfortable, good looking, helmets on the market, plus, it's adjustable if you grow more, the vision on it is also exceptional
Shaft - Gait DB803
Reason - there is no reason, in my opinion that any goalie should not be using this shaft (unless they own a Harrow Freeze), it's the lightest shaft on the market, and to move your hands quicker, a lighter shaft works (feel free to use a heavy shaft for practice though)
Head - Gait Sentinel, STX Eclipse, Warrior Nemesis (if you're daring) Brine Eraser
Reason - All tried and true, take a look at them and pick the one that suits you best, the eraser, i haven't actually played with, but i hear good things about; the guardian is a gimmick, the goalmaster is hard to string nicely, and older brine and warrior heads are for beginners, the abyss can be a serious consideration
Chest Pad - Brine Eraser
Reason - Hands down the greatsest CP ever, comfortable, protective, mobile
Gloves - Up to You
Recommendations: Brine Defts, any new generation glove
Stay away from: the warrior goalie thumb, older brine thumbs
As for the throat guard, get one of the ones that drills in, rather than one of those danglers that don't do anything - the cpx lexan throat guard, or the brine triad throat guard are the best in that category

You noticed that too. My goalie has them in size medium, and they are huge. They go from the middle of his things, to the bottom of his collar bones. I swear if he gets hit hard enough, he will break them because the choppers slide down so much.

My Chopper doesn't fit that badly. Guess its because i shortened the two elastic straps at the shoulders with safety pins. It definitely has some room for improvement but it isnt the worst choice you could make either. Yes, the split design of the pad takes a bit of getting used to but it feels like you aren't wearing muh at all once you get into the game.

in terms of a chest protector, if you dislike bulk, i would go for the warrior MPG body pad 2.0. it's really protective yet still really thin. however, since you have so much dough, if you want something a little ritzier, i would try for the fancy MLL 5.5. expensive, yes, but it's pretty much as close as you can get to a Gladiator nowadays. as others have said, eclipse, nemmy, or eraser with db803, CPX TI w/ lexan throat guard and Superfreak goalie gloves are the way to go.
