ok, im an attackman, 15 yrs old, (freshman), 5'9 ish and 165lbs. and I have had problems doging from X. I can never really lose my man and get a good shot on goal. I am a medium to fast sprinter, and I have good stick skills, aswell as an accurate and powerful shot. This is the part of my game Im most shaky about. Also, any tips on getting open for passes when a man is guarding you tight?

P.S. any of your favorite doges would be greatly appreciated.
P.P.S. are there any specific techniques I may need to know?
thanks a lot

a lot of times when your teamate is driving you can pop out for an open shot. or atleast if the pole isn't going behing the net. i do that a lot.

your pretty big for a freshman...if the guys smaller then you, use the bulldodge. As for attack, me personally I dont think your top speed is much of a concern as your quickness, try change of direction, roll dodge, question mark, some rocker. Try to move quickly, like I said...your pretty big for a freshman so if the guys smaller, just run right at him.

question mark is a good idea. also, if you want, when your at x, roll really wide to either side then beat your man our there, that way you dont have to get past the GLA in a tougher position.

if the d is in man-man, pressuring behind, hold your stik in your right hand , swith to your left, take 2 quick steps like your going left, then as fast as possible switch hands and go right.

im a freshman too just a little taller, about the same weight. One thing i like to do is timing up the checks. Bulldodge kinda slowly, protecting your stick, then when they throw the check on your front arm or try to wrap, try to roll pretty much when it hits. The three things here are the change of direction, change of speed, and most of the time while a defender is checking he's a little off balance. Catching him like this is what gets seperation. Just come back the other way and tiptoe the crease for a shot or dump in front when the slide comes.

stutter-step into a split dodge with a change of speed works wonders.

When we go invert and I find myself behind GLE, I am a pretty big fan of the finalizer [Split, to roll, to doggey paddle]. I also like the question mark.

my favorite move is the finalizer (charge one side of the goal, roll back, then split really fast right when your defender is changing direction) then just charge to the goal look for the pass/shot.
