I was playing in a game the other day and I was checking my attackman and my stick got underneath his arm when I stripped him. He then closed his arm against his side holding my stick so I couldn't get to the ground ball.

I know it's kinda confusing and mabey hard to understand, but has this ever happened to anyone before or does anyone know how to prevent it?

That's illegal the refs should call it. When he was holding you did he pick up the ball?

i know what ur talking about. it should be called a hold. if the attackman does it tell the ref to watch it. if not just let go of the stick when he does it and the ref will see him holding your stick.

Yeah, that's illegal. Next time let him know he's not going to get away with cheap stuff like that, yank on your stick, if he holds tight enough it'll throw him off balance or leave a nice mark on the inside of his arm, he'll learn his lesson. If not, put him on the ground.

If he is holding your stick under his arm he's screwed....now you have him on a string. my suggestion is to push. get him off balance and try and make him over run the ball.

if you can't make a play on the ball, let go of your stick so the ref can see he is holding your stick...

it you can't do that, nicely walk up to the ref during a time out, or quarter change and let him know your guy is holding your stick..

another thing to do is to push or pull your stick to take the attackman out of the play, the only trouble with this is that you may be called for pushing...

Happens to me every once in awhile, though it's usually not done on purpose by the attack. I'd just yank it out,or if he's still within 5 yds of the ball and doesn't have his back to you, call "man" and put body to him and push him off of your stick. Somebody else can get the ball, and you're still being useful.

This has happened to me. I just let go of my stick and stepped back and pointed to show the ref. He got the penalty.
