I know there was a thread on this already but I searched and couldn't find it
I searched left face off and left faceoff and nothing for the first few pages.
So my question is does a lefty who is facing off also have to hold it like a righty as well?

From what I've learned/heard and experienced is yes all face offs are done the same way no matter if your left or right handed. You face off with the stick on your right side. I dont know if there are any exceptions or if there are different rules in different sections or different levels, but I'm pretty sure for all field lacrosse that you have to face off the same way.( I'm not sure about box).

Yeah I think everyone has to face off righty. I did see a post somewhere that said that if two leftys were facing off they could decide to do lefty if they want, but I'm not sure about that.

Regardless if two lefties wanted to face off lefthanded, NCAA rule book (don't have a NFHS rule book handy but I'm positive it's the same), states:
Both hands and feet of each player must be to the left of the throat of his crosse. Each player must be positioned so his entire body is to the left of the throat of his crosse. It is legal to lean over the center line.
So with that statment, it is impossible to legally face off left handed.

not entirely illegal, you can position your body on the same side as your opponent.your stick still is the sme way but your body is on the other side.Ill post a pic in a minute
