I dont know if this should of been in stick doctors, or goalies. but i just put it into goalies.

ALL GOALIES....what kind of mesh do you use and why. I was wondering because i am about to get a some mesh for my goalie head

please list the down side of up side of the mesh you use...also...can u form a good pocket with ur mesh?!?!?

jimalax 20d - I've always used 17d mesh, but I recently found jimalax's 20d and it's the same size diamond, there's just 3 more diamonds total. I use it because of the crisp passes and out of habit. I can always string a good pocket with it, form a great channel within that pocket, and I NEVER have whip. I have had 12d before but didn't put too much effort into it, as I'm happy with my 20d.

sorry i didnt see it...is trad hard 20, any different from trad hard 17 besides the number of dimonds?

It's the same size diamond as 17, just a larger piece of mesh.

depends on how deep you want. 17d is often strung with open sidewalls so you can get a deeper pocket. I don't like open sidewalls, which is why I went with the 20d, closed sidewall, to ensure that my pocket would be deep enough. My 20d is strung well, closed sidewall, and 2 1/2 balls deep. I could easily make it deeper though.

i have been using ten alot and i like it. it forms a good channel right out of the gate and has magnificent hold. I have been hearing alot about the twenty and picked up a piece and i like it alot i does not form as defined of a channel so you lose some hold but that loss of hold comes with less whip so take that as you want. another thing to think about is in the rain i have found the ten streches less

As of right now, I am using 10D. I love the hold with it. I ususally go with 10, 12, and 17.

I like 12d best, Im rocking the neon green 12d in my web pro right now, formed a good pocket, lots of hold, no whip

jima 20d, jima 12d. i like the 20 better just because it has a nice release.
