there is no way to fix an ipod cheap. sorry store charges a lot and if you dont have warranty dont even bother. other websites that fix broken ipods and put in the right parts cost anywhere from 30$-200$ from new screen to need new everything

are you serious, ive given like 5 ipods to them and all they do is "were not aloud to fix ipods so feel free to buy another" and if you do feel like fixing it (if your warrenty is down) go to ipod resQ (http://www.ipodresq.com)
theyll help. and if your ipod is toatally busted trade it in to apple, theyyll give you 15% off another and buy another with an EXTENED WARRANTY

I have had my Dell DJ 1st Gen for nearly 4 years now and have never had one problem with it. It has been dropped in water and slammed against a brick wall. Still works like a charm. What I am trying to say is, the Ipod is not the only mp3 player out there. Look around. Do research. There are many better ones.

30 gig is still a good size for a backup disk, use it to back up all of your music and pictures, like you would an external hard drive. Thats what I would do at least.

Yeah, but have you ever owned an iPOD? It blows everything (besides the Zune) away.
