Thats so crazy, does it apply to everyone or just locals. Like if an Eastcoaster like myself came down, could I be fined?
And I dont wear a hat but I kinda wish I did.

I don't think he was being serious. He means pretty much everyone wears a cow boy hat.

Actually, me and Jugthug were just kidding, do you guys on the east coast really think we're like that?. Not that many people wear them in my area(hip-hop oriented), but in smaller towns you'll probably see quite a few.
Also, we don't ride horses everywhere, in case anyone was curious.

Uh, folks...we actually get this all the time...people really believe that Texans still wear 'em.
We don't, almost nobody wears a hat anymore, we're more or less civilized.
I only wear mine when I'm going C&W dancing. Although I do wear jeans all the time.

Hehe, im sure the majority of people down here have one, but you don't often see people wearing them out in public. I know I had one for the lnogest time, but than I grew out of it.

No...rednecks and wannabe rednecks wear them. I'm in houston and maybe see 1/10,000 people wearing one.

We have a lot of people from Houston here (oil business), but so far I haven't seen any cowboy hats. Just cowboy boots, big belt buckles, and an occasional string tie. I used to have a neighbor in Germany (who was German) who wore full cowboy gear everyday. Strange person.
