the title says it all. in one of my other threads, an argument came up over which was supposed to come first. some say pinching after dyeing will ruin the dye job, while others say that dyeing after pinching will un-do the pinch, therefore making the pinch pointless....(hope that makes sense)
anyways, is there a correct way to do this that keeps the dye job nice and a good pinch? help please. :dummy:

dye first then pinch. if you pinch first then put it in the hot dye it will unpinch.

definitely dye first, as most pinching methods will not undo the dye
EXCEPTION: if you plan on boiling water to pinch it, then do both at the same time. if you pinch this way, then dye, the hot water from the dye has a chance of un-pinching the head; if you dye, then put the stick in boling water for the pinch, it will fade the dye.

i agree with the 2 on top of me. do it at the same time so you dont ruin either the pich or the dye.

Do it like this: Dye it first, but keep the dye water boiling, then pinch it in the same water. If you do it at the same time, there will be a line where the strings you used to tighten the head. Make sure you used the dye water, or the dye might fade.
