Has anyone ever heard of Jai Alai? I was watching Jackass and they had a 5 minute segment about it. These pro players were absolutely LAUNCHING oranges at Johnny Knoxville and Stevo. They were throwing the oranges out of this thing called a xistera:

They said that the world record speed was 188 mph, and the average speed is easily over 100. Imagine playing goalie and going up against it.

Yeah I've heard of it...I think there was a segment on it on Sportscenter a couple years ago.

Top pro Jai-Alai players can shatter bulletproof glass with the ball.

Im actually trying Jai Alai out when I go down to Ft Lauderdale for spring break. I guess its really big down there so im going to go to a clinic while im down there. I saw the skit on Jackass and I realized that I had to try it.

That is just amazing. That xistera thing doesn't look like it could throw things over 100 miles an hour. It's a lot more easier to picture something coming out that fast out of a lacrosse stick, but that's just sick. I wonder how fast these guys could shoot with a lacrosse stick.

however closely corralated being a goalie and being insane is, the the similarity ends somewhere between lacrosse and jai alai.

They arent really shooting at a goal they are just trying to bounce the ball of the wall to their opponent.

I saw this on JA too, it looks nasty, and painful, but fun if you're not having them coming at you.
