I had a coach today fix a mesh pocket when it broke with a needle and dental floss. All he did was thread the needle and wax floss through the good parts of the mesh diamonds and it throws perfectly again. The fix evidently works for years because his mesh is bound together with floss in 5 places from him playing in his college days. Just thought it would help somepeople with restringing a whole new stick when a diamond rips.

Wierd... I've never heard that before. It would probably be a quick fix for me until I get home and restring my stick with new mesh!

That intrests me so much, you have no idea.. my mesh is ripping in like, 4-5 spots with 2 parts already ripped, but the mesh is just too broken in and godly to take out..

Why not just buy new mesh that will last you awhile longer? It's a good idea I suppose though.

Or just use thread.

thread will frey and fall apart. The floss doesn't break.

I've never used dental floss, but I have a spool of kevlar string, which is about the thickness of kite string. I've used that quite a few times on numerous sticks to fix spots where the mesh is about to break, or even to create a new side of a diamond where one has blown out. It also works good for fixing holes in goals. As far as I know, none of it has broken(this stuff is really strong), though if you don't attach it correctly, it will put stress on other parts of the mesh causing it to wear more in other spots.

my dad did this for me when my mesh ripped this summer. It held up for about a season which is enough time to get new mesh broken in, etc.
