I just got a pair of weight training gloves for my birthday, but they are biking gloves. the guy at the store said that they would work fine for weight training as well, but i just wanted to ask here just in case you guys say something different than the dude at the store. will biking gloves work just as well as weight training gloves?

thanks

They should be fine. Check to make sure the palms are padded, since that is the main point of lifting gloves. But as said above, you shouldn't really need them unless you're moving a lot of weight, or you are very concerned about callouses on your beautiful hands. I used to use them, but I always manage to lose one from each pair, they end up being a hassle.

if they give you grip and protect your hands then they will work.

I have gloves that I got at Sears that give amazing wrist support which also prevents you from cheating when you do curls.
