I've been playing goalie for 7 years and have yet to have an amazing channel I see a lot of goalies with. How does every one get these insane channels I see all around the forums???

By using interlocking sidewalls at the top to keep it tight.

Any other techniques? Like a certain way to stretch the mesh or something of that nature.

i have found that having a runner go down the sidewalls does the trick. i just use the same string i use for the side wall start at the bottom and pull them tight through the top sidewall hole then go down as you would normally. that always seems to work for me.

i actually use close interlocked 20d and it forms an INSANE channel (refer to my thread in the SDL entitled "its a string job..... whatelse can i say" should be on prob the bottom of the second page)

Can I use this http://www.lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=57523 for interlocking sidewalls?

Your asking if you can do double sidewalls on a goaie stick? I guess you could. I haven't seen it done before. I think open would be more effective. What type of mesh are you using? 10 and 12 is better closed. 14 can go either way. 17 is good open. 20 is closed.

yeah you can use that interlock method shown in the tutorial. but i would recomend going in from the front instead of the back, it lets the mesh settle inside the sidewalls and out ouside the plastic. it'll help create a channel.

i can get you pictures if you need.

all you do for the interlock a good way is to go from the outside of the hole, go under the mesh then come out the back of the mesh and lock. very simple, very effective.

i found that if the mesh is already in ur stick and everything and nothing else is working if u tie up the left side wit the rigth side and its real tight if u leave it like taht for a day or so it will always have that channel made up once u untie everything
sorry hard to exlpain i would put a pic up if i had a camera

expressgoalie, yes that is the interlocking i use, and also i triple up twice, to do that go over under over, it pretty much combining regular and double. like do the over of a single, and then come back up then down again go through the inside sidewall hole come back through and lock
