Matt Russell stick looks like a ellipse and most of the college and pro goalies stick shafts look very plain and simple.

Though with Brine now owned by New Balance as well, don't be surprised if you see some Brine gear make it on the field this year.

Gear is all about preference. The most predominant heads are going to be the nemesis and Eclipse. Brine has the new Eraser, but I haven't seen much of them in use yet. As for shafts, light and stiff is all that matters. Don't wast your money on a $100 goalie shaft. You shouldn't need to spend more than $60 - $80 for a good shaft. You can get by with far less as well.

i use an eclipse on a kryptolite. The krypto only costs like 70 bucks.

The goalies whose team is sponsered by STX uses an Eclipse, and the goalies whose team is sponsered by Warrior uses a Nemesis, and so on..

not always true. just because you're school is sponsored by a certin corp, dosn't mean that they use the goalie equip that comes with it. Ohio Sate is sponsored by warrior, 2 of their keepers use Eclipses. Umass last year was sponsored by Brine, while Doc decided to use a Nemisis. Syracuse's Colluchini used an Eclipse last year and their sponsored by Brine. it's all preference.

How come nobody sponsored by STX uses the Guardian, it weighs less and according to STX it is a higher end head

The Guardian is lighter, but also more flexible; which isnt always a good thing. Also, many keepers dont like the "comestic" rubber add-ons.

The Eclipse has been around a lot longer, and has proven itself to be a strong, yet simple goalie head. Function over form my friend.

I have the Guardian, and I hate it. It's my back up to my nemmy, and I love the nemesis. Personally, the only sticks that I've seen college goalies use are the Nemesis, Eclipse, and the Sentinal (Virginia's Kip Turner).

my main stick = eclipse (hot pink mesh) and old school cut f-15 shaft

backup = nemi (carolina blue mesh) and cut kryptolite

backup backup = old school goalmaster (neon green mesh) and cu31

why dont you just look at your stick...most people play with something like an 803, titan pro, axe, krypto pro. then as for heads, eclipses and nemesis seem to be pretty high. then abyss.

The goalie from Wagner uses a Guardian, and the goalie at Bellarmine uses an Eraser.

just curious - couldn't imagine why else you'd have two residencies, one being Rindge.
