Hey guys,
today at practice we were practicing hitting, and during one of the hits, someone got under my shoulderpad and really hit me hard. At the time it didnt really hurt too much, but about halfway through practice my shoulder was really stiff and very painful. Our trainer wasnt there, and i have a game tomorrow so i thought its prolly just a bruise and went home. Now my shoulder is hurting everytime i breathe, and hurts when its in a position that doesnt put my arm close to my body. I cant see my shoulder being dislocated, cause i know thats very painful, and while this is pretty bad, its livable. But, at the same time, i dont see this just being a bruise. Any thoughts?..?

o yeah, id also like to add that if you look at it, comparing it to my other shoulder, the hurt one seems to have a pointy bump.

If you can move your arm at all (without help), it's in its socket. You may have subluxed it (dislocated and then pops back in by itself), but you'd know if it was dislocated. Go see a doctor if it hurts and your ROM hindered.

I wouldn't go quite as far as to say that it's not dislocated if you can move it at all, but I do agree that if it was dislocated, you would KNOW. Trust me. Hurts much and just feels out.

Sublux does seem possible, although when I did that it hurt at the time as well.

It may also be a fracture. Sounds quite similar to the fractured collarbone I got as a lad. I could move it fairly well, but it swells and the pain is a bit like an ache, only really heavy.

Go see a doc.

"hurts when its in a position that doesnt put my arm close to my body."

That's the line I was referring to. I wasn't making a general statement (sorry for the poor choice of words).

But lemme restate what has been already said, GO TO A DOC! Kids on an internet forum should not be your source of medical information.
