I wear "And1" basketball shoes. They are a little stiff when I first buy them but tend to break in nice. Presently on my third pair in as many years. My son wears RBK basketball shoes and he hasn't complained of anything so far this year right out of the box.
Find yourself something with good support, that's light and comfortable. A couple other threads here have some good ideas with regards to slippage. (soda, hairspray, rosin..........)

stay away from running flats, they are built to go forward, and not for lateral movement.
Basketball shoes, tennis shoes (actually for tennis), and indoor soccer shoes are all made for the start/stop and changes of direction that lacrosse entails.
The most important factor is the rounded edges of the soles, these allow power, energy, and balance to be rotated over the length and width of the foot at will...which means you can change speed and direction without having your knees/ankles torn apart...
note that basketball, tennis, and indoor soccer are "court" sports, and the shoes are designed accordingly.
I wear a low-end model of Acacia indoor soccer shoe...with my low black sox, I look very cool (I tell myself...).

Sorry for not getting back to you on this for awhile but the shoes are the warrior burn dry turf, which are also good on concrete.
here is a link to them: http://www.warriorlacrosse.com/2007/MENS_PRODUCT/MENSproductBKGRND_LG.html

I used the new Vick's this weekend in ontario and they were fantastic on the turf. Great grab and cushioning. For concrete I would get a solid b-ball shoe, running shoes won't give you the support you need.

I use, Addias 06 TMAC's. but, only use the 06 model (the ones with the leather straps on the) the 07's dont have nearly as much contact with the floors.
