Are shooting strings supposed to get loose as you go up, or get tighter as the go up? thanks in advance

tighter....so the top shooting string is the tightest and the lowest one is the loosest.

yep gradually loosen them, tightest at the top loosest at the bottom middle ones moderate a medium tension

If you dont want whip in it then have the top one be the tightest and the bottom one be the loosest. But if you do want whip the do the opposite, or some variation of it.
