ok i know that to break in a pocket you've got to throw around with it. but im a goalie and i dont play with my short stick a lot other that to warm up our other goalies occasionally. i also dont want to put a pocket stretcher in it because then it will get to deep. so heres my question. IS THERE ANY FASTER WAY TO BREAK MY POCKET IN WITH ALL OF IT STRUNG UP THAN JUST TO BEAT IT SENSELESS. AND WOULD SOAKING IT IN CONDITIONER SCREW WITH THE SHOOTERS.

I dont think coditioner messes with shooter, but i've never actually done it. You could make a pocket pounder from the tutorial and get your pocket damp and pound it. If you do this for 5-10 minutes 2-3 times you'll be good.

I highly discourage you from softening or conditioning mesh, a ball and butter knife wont make it illegal, just do that and quickly tighten up, if its really hard run it under some water with the ball and knife in place, it will be perfect if done right, you can also do two balls for a bag.

Did you mean to start a help thread? Cause you're not saying anything about this thread.

first of all, you have the sickest avatar of all. you're right about it not messing up the shooters though. put some conditioner in it and you should be good. I would just use the stick a lot though.

In my opinion you should never, ever, ever need to use a ball and butter knife, or a pocket stretcher on a good mesh pocket. If you strung it right, it will work right after you string it. Occasionally I hit it with my hand or a ball to help it along ( I dont want to say pound, because that makes it sound like I'm beating it, which isnt nessisarry.) Like I said it will work right after you string it, and break in over time more then it is; to be nice and perfect. I understand you were asking for a faster way then that, but I feel that this way is the best way, and you'll have a better quality pocket in the end due to it. Pockets are like good friends, they like you because your nice to them and like them back, not because you beat them senseless with a pocket pounder. You gotta string the pocket so you like it, but you also have to treat it right.

if u wanna soften it up then spray some wd40 on it and pound it a little and then throw with it a little.

I take out the shooters and soak it but when I soak it in shampoo with the shooters it is fine.

don't use shampoo or conditioner, does nothing for hard mesh....other then make it smell decent. Pounding a ton makes the mesh lose grip, and makes the life die QUICKLY. I suggest you just dip the whole head in boiling water then stick something long and metal/hard through the mesh and just pull back and forth to stretch it out.

like luigi said, if you don't mind unstringing your stick, then do that and really stretch your mesh well before stringing it again. But if you don't want to do that, then get your mesh wet and do the ball and butterknife trick. It won't make it illegal.
