I went to the Final Four the last 2 times it was in Baltimore, so I was pumped that its going to be there this year. My family and I bought tickets and parking passes because we are/were big on tailgating. We recently received a phone call saying that our lot was moved and you cannot tailgate in our new lot. Our lot was changed due to an Orioles game... they play what like 150+ games and have to schedule one on the most important lacrosse weekend of the year?!?!?! This happen to anyone else?

They sent us a letter a few months ago asking if we intended on tailgating so that they could (I assume) get an estimate of how many were going to tailgate. In the letter it also mentioned that there was an O's game, but it said they were still going to allow tailgating, I guess that's changed?

Now you know why the Ravens Stadium is a TERRIBLE site. It might be great for the Baltimore folks who come in on the Light Rail, but what about those of us who have been going to the Finals for years and enjoy the tailgating as well as the games. The "Light Railers" never bothered to travel to Byrd Stadium in College Park let alone Rutgers, but claim that Ravens Stadium is the best. Even without the Orioles being at home, the parking situation stinks.

In 2004, people who could not get into the lots and received tickets for "public consumption of alcohol". Even though the Phillies were at home last year and there was a rock concert, there was plenty of parking for all tailgaters at the Eagles Stadium.

You're best bet may just be to find a lot that offers tailgating but doesn't require reservations when you get there (if they have any). That's what I did in Philly and it worked out pretty well. Just be sure to get there nice and early.

Atacklax, there are no other "lots" at Ravens Stadium that you can tailgate in. See my earlier post. Tickets were issued in 2004 to those who were "consuming alcohol in public". This is not hearsay, I know someone who received a ticket. The lack of adequate parking is the main problem with Ravens Stadium. It is designed for the "local" fans who travel to the football games by public transportation and not the "out of town" fans who go to the NCAA's. In 2004 the prepaid parking at the stadium was sold out early on and the Orioles were not even home at the time.

Maybe people can park in the lots at Timonium and Hunt Valley then take the Light Rail in. I'm not being serious, just sarcastic.

For years, the NCAA tournament was supported by the fans who travelled to the games no matter where they were held and who was playing. Having attended all but six championships since they started in 1971 I always ran into "once a year friends" from upstate NY, the midwest, Florida, etc. etc. etc.. Hopefully the NCAA powers will see the light and have the games in Philly everyother year and rotate them to other sites in the years in between.
