I searched and found nothing about canadian university lacrosse.

Is there anyone here who plays?

It's going to a be a major factor in deciding which university im attending, i was just wondering how good the programs are out here. I know Brock and Guelph have a good one, but what about Toronto or Carleton, even Laurier?

Any input would be appreciated.

Try a search for CUFLA on the web - Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association.

Ontario is the only place that theres University field lacrosse with SFU as an exception. SFU actually plays in the NCAA league thats out west i think.

Not entirely true. St Mary's and St F-X out east have teams, as do McGill and Bishops in Quebec.

I play for St F.X. and we actually have a maritime university field lacrosse league (MUFLL) with 6 teams. We only just finished the second year the league has been in existence. I didn't even know this school had a lacrosse team until I showed up first year and saw a lax practice on the field...needless to say I scooped up my pole and went out to play. The main problem with this league is that most of the players are pure box players. None of our three goalies had ever played field lax before this year. The league is a good league, most teams are competitive with each other, although because of a lack of field lacrosse depth aren't all that competitive with the CUFLA. St FX and Dalhousie are the two best teams in the league, with Dal winning 2 years ago and St FX winning this past year (Season is in the fall) and Dal and St FX both in the finals both of those years.

I played for McMaster years ago, they have a solid program. The head coach is Ed Comeau who is also the coach of the Rochester Nighthawks in the NLL. Brock has been ALWAYS been good, (last 15 years they are near or at the top)

The league's web site is http://www.cufla.org

There are 12 Canadian University teams that play in CUFLA (ON & PQ), and another 6 that play in MUFLL (Maritimes). Add SFU to that mix and there are 19 universities in Canada that are currently playing lacrosse.

The season for CUFLA and MUFLL runs from September to November (training camps usually start before labour day), so if you're planning to attend a university and play lacrosse, try to get in touch with a coach asap.

Here's a couple links:

Western Mustangs team site. If you need more info on the team at Western, let me know. It's a great school with a great lacrosse program.
