don't most mll plyrs have another job? i heard they don't get paid that much, that they can't just spend their time playing lacrosse in order to live offa that money. i read i think in like the US lacrosse magazine, that one's an accounant.. while anothers an enginner? i think its good, how they play a professional sport, yet can have another job too, in case of an injury.. or when they just get to old to play.

its no NFL, but either way, id take the 8000-25000 for a chance to play lax as at least one career

The players only even get the minimum salary if they play every single game of the season. I've heard several times that a lot of players have a real problem with the way the league handles salaries.

ampedxinoy: First off, it's they, not dey, please pretend to spell simple words right. Second off, they are ALL sponsered by Warrior. There are exceptions like Gary Gait and people like that, who are sponsered by another company, but they're not allowed to wear it for the MLL. Yes, it's money, but it's not their salary, so therefore, it's not applied here.

i'd say almost all of these guys have other jobs, some work for lax companies developing products. Some work for investment companies, some as accountants. It's the same thing that was happening when all the other Pro leagues were starting out. It's really more Semi-pro then anything at the moment.

They get paid by the game so if they can't make a game or do not have a good practice and don't make the game roster they don't get paid. Still its enough money that I would play, and for some of these guys right out of college still looking for a permanent job its good money for only working two days a week.

Actually every professional sport gets paid by the game. It just so happens that they are getting tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars a game. Take a NFL running back who makes 2.2 million dollars this year. Take about 5000 a week during training camp and preseason games. Now take what you have left and divide that by 17. Thats what they get per game. They get money on top of that for post season play. Now their are stipulations for injuries. But if they get put on the practice squad or decide to no show then No pay

cause you look foolish when you spell things wrong, use words out of context, or mispronounce things. It's a fact of life. Also it can confuse people

the salaries will go up in time there is no question about it. however making that much for only workign about twice a week isnt bad at all. And for people like the powells thats all they do is play, market for warrior and do camps. Not a bad life.

Its not like you can just show up to games without practice/conditioning/etc...in order to make the good money you gotta be at the top of your game...Its still alot of work for not much cash...I agree the salaries are getting better (before the MLL, there was only the NLL, definately not enough)...now players can do both and camps etc and make an average to slightly above average living...
My yearly salary is probably equal to that of some of the better players' yearly salary...tho being in the corporate world, mine will be growing much more quickly than theirs...however...they do what they love...i just get a nice UV tan from the flourescent lights and no windows

Thank you Johnny. Yea, I'm strict on spelling because i hate it when people purposely spell things wrong. If you happen to misspell a word on accident, o well, no big deal. But when you purposely go and make a fool of yourself, it just bothers me. Honestly, I could care less about how you spell things, it's your loss in the end. Do as you may, it's not my choice for your life, if you want to spell things the way you do, so be it.
