I am wondering how many people in this forum are part of the USLIA(college club league). If you are in the USLIA please leave a post and say what team you play for.

Although I don't play yet, I a senior this year of highschool, and next year I plan on attending U of O and hopefully get a shot to play lacrosse there. Can you still get scholarship money even thought it's a club sport?

None of the USL MDIA members offer scholarships, since money's not given by the school and for the most part schools distance themselves as much as possible from their club teams.

And I played on the Univ. of South Carolina's club team, and now I coach there.

go and check out the message board at www.uslia.com...they have a bunch of discussions going on there about this and other things. The National Tourny will include both A and B division, and will be in Minnisota, which should feel a lot better in May than St. Louis. Also, the best way to get a spot there would be to win your conference, because I don't know if they'll be giving out at-large bids, and if they are, there won't be that many. They're looking at keeping it small, since most B teams' budgets wouldn't pay for a trip to Nationals in the first place

I played for arizona state's team for a bit, but I ended up quitting cause the coach is a ****, the team sucks, and they think they're god's gift to lacrosse and they're definately not.

I play for St. Olaf College in Minnesota. We only have 3,000 students but we petitioned to get placed in the A league. We ended up getting third place in the UMLL.

The tournament will be in Blaine, Minnesota next year. Actually I think it might be there the next two years. It will be played at the National Sports Center. They have the USA Cup, the largest soccer tournament in the country. They have like 50 fields but always put lacrosse games on the **** fields that have giant holes in them. It's a good facility though, here's the website: http://www.nscsports.org

is college club competitive in most colleges? are there practices? how serious is club?

TheKOB

yep, there's practice. The seriousness ranges from what you would get at a D1/D3 school down to beer league, although most lean towards the first more than the second. That's just in the USL MDIA. The NCLL as a league isn't as organized, so it depends more on the individual teams to get themselves organized.

I play for Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri (NE corner near Iowa). We are USL MDIA-B. Specifically we are in the GRLC-B conference. I would say that club is pretty competitive, but it also depends alot on the team. Our team doesnt have a true coach as lacrosse here just isnt big enough. We will be lucky if we get 20-25 guys on the squad. Its still awesome though. O, Kweston4, I had a chance to visit St. Olaf (have friends who go there) about 2months ago. That is an incredible place. I saw some people practicing and thought about dropping by, but didnt. Anyways, just thought I would put that out there.

I play for LMU in Los Angeles and in our league (WCLL) play is really competitive. I think that the WCLL and the RMILL(sp.) are for the most part the most competitive leagues in the country, obviously there are teams that are exceptions to this, but in terms of the strength of the leagues they are the strongest. From what I hear in the A division everyone plays fall ball and regular season, and even fall ball for some schools is pretty intense. But like everyone has been saying it really depends on the team you play for. It seems like a lot of the B division teams have stepped their play too, as is illustrated by the fact that they will have a national tournament now. Anyways, hope this helps somewhat.

not nit picking here but i gotta question for KOB:
why is it just D1/D3? Do d2 teams not practice as hard? Or was it just an honest mistake of leaving D2 outta the picture?
once again not trying to be a jerk just doing some "research"

I seriously don't know what I was thinking. Just replace it with NCAA.

Gotta love D2...without them, we wouldn't have varsity college lacrosse in SC at all...Limestone and soon PC
