Is a 6-10 record acceptable for the Rock?

I dunno if he is to blame. Didn't the higher-ups in the organization decide they wanted to build a younger team? I mean this season's rock is much different than the team we've seen in the past years. They traded Doyle away for a bunch of young guys and some draft spots. I don't think that you can blame Clark fully for the lack-luster season. Rebuilding a team isn't something that can take effect over only 1 season.

He is intense...but he was intense as a player. I think he might be a little too intense to coach a team that's rebuilding. I agree you can't blame him for trading away their transitioin game. The areas of the team that you would expect to produce are producing.

It's not like they weren't in the New York game. You can only play the guys that management gives you. He did appear a little ticked at Watson after a couple of those five hole goals. (could have been ticked at the defence) They just don't have the "complete" team that they've had in past years. A great core...yes, but they don't have everything they need to win a Championship and they are getting old in a couple areas.

Fire him? I say no but I'm not managing the team. I can see where some of his on floor antics and bench screaming sessions might lead a management team to think of going a different way but, that might be what the executive expect of him or, the reason they hired him in the first place. Les built a team and enjoyed the fruits of his labors, Glenn should do the same if they give him enough time.

I voted no. 6-10 is not good, but I don't blame him. Clark took over an aging team that was a shell of the former dynasty and then the trade his best goal producer right off the bat. While Benesch has played well, he ain't at the top of the league like Doyle had been the last couple years.

Give Clark another year.

Last season was pretty mediocre after winning their 5th cup and having virtually the same team, then they trade away their top scorer, and Watson is (IMO) on the downside of his career. Not a whole lot to work with.

Sometimes players, even intense ones, just don't translate into coaches very well. I think there is quite a bit of coaching to be done in an NLL game, other than the screaming, but it seems the Rock always seem a step or two behind when it come to on-floor adjustments in a game - if they even make any at all. I think the Rock need an experienced coach, but the right kind of coach.

You can't take anything away from Clark, he has done his best and should maybe spend a few more seasons assisting. He could become a great coach.

SAVE THE COACH
I would question the director of Lacrosse Operations/Manager (what ever title they use) maybe stick him/her out to pasture.
Traded away the better part of a Strong well bonded, good working team, with little gained in return.

I'd say Clark deserves another year. See what they can make of the team with the draft pick they have from the Phil Sanderson trade. I agree with dare2compare that the Sandersons are going to be flushed out of Philly very soon.

HE IS IN THE PLAYOFFS!

If they beat Rochester you will want to make him Prime Minister.

The Philadelphia Wings announced on Monday they have relieved Head Coach Lindsay Sanderson and Assistant Coaches Terry Sanderson, Gregg MacDonald, and Chris Sanderson of their duties effective immediately, according to Wings' President Russ Cline. Lindsay Sanderson will remain as the Wings' General Manager, a position he has held since 2004.

When you lose Doyle, have a terrible goalie and are on your way to rebuiliding, this stuff happens. Let's see if he can start rebuilding.

Now as for your they have 5 of 7 championships; so what? Edmonton Oilers did similar in 7 years and they kept the same coach after they began losing. After Gretz left etc.

Have a terrible goalie? Come again? I hope your not talking about Whipper, because even though he may be getting old and even though all these new goalies are coming up from playing field, he is still one of the top goalies in the NLL.
As for Poulin, not to shabby for a backup goalie right out of juniors. Played his first full game with the Rock against colorado, and kept them in the game pretty tight until losing in overtime.
