I'm getting involved with a U19 team and I have coached several age groups in lacrosse from 7 up. But it's my first time in a U19 siutation and wondering if anyone has any opinions/tips on what types of strategy to use in these situations:
Defense - Man vs Zone & what is the best slide package?
Transition - how does everyone set-up to get the ball out...looking fast break all the time or more structured slow (I know it sometimes depends on the ride)
Best ride? How to do it so that we can pull a middie off for a fourth long-pole?
Most effective offensive sets/plays?
Remember...it's U19 so these guys can already play, we just need to organize and teach the strategy. I know what I am use to playing, but I haven't seen too much of this age group and level...but it would be like Sr. High school.
Any help would be great. Thanks.
