Ok I can swear I saw an AR for this but for the life of me I cannot find it....

Flag down at the end of the quarter with possession. Face off or no face off?

Go easy on me, its Monday!

EDIT.. Mods please delete... I found it.. No need for posting. Happy Monday!

Since someone else is curious, I'm sure, I'll still give it a go:

Answer is: it depends.

A flag down at the end of the period denotes possession. However, that doesn't tell the whole story.

If the flag down creates an uneven situation, the next period starts with the fouled team in possession. (NCAA & NFHS)

However, if that flag down creates an even situation, it depends. In NCAA, faceoff. In NFHS, possession is awarded.

Clear as mud?

Hey Chris, here is a quiz for you having to do with penalties at the end of a quarter, sort of...

Both A1 and B1 are in the penalty area on a faceoff. A1's penalty expires in 2 seconds. Under what conditions, if any, can A1 enter the field before "possession" is called?

ILF rules:
- The wing near the penalty box must be left empty.
- Penalty time must be over (clear) i.e. 2 sec after whistel is blown to start the time.
- A1 must cross the wing line (what is hard not to do if he starts at the exchange box).
