Can anyone give me the lowdown on this pocket. How does it compare to hard, soft or monster mesh and regular traditional? Is it word $60 to get it strung up in a Cyber?
How is the hold, where does the pocket typically form and how is the release?
Thanks.

it's just brine's name for the dog track/twist/twister pocket.

I got a wahoo pocket in my edge-x and i cant say it's the best pocket i ever used. The pocket formed right in between the rubber stuff (which is where i think most pockets would form in that type of stick). The release isn't really good at all. I've played around with the shooting strings and everything but still can't stop it from throwing off the plastic. After a practice with it i didn't like it so i went back to my profile with hard mesh. So, if i was you i would probably stick with what you have now or you could get it if you want, but that's just my opinion.

Let me make something clear. All factory strung traditional pockets (wahoo, twisti, etc included) suck. Some of their mesh pockets are fine, but all their trad pockets suck - period. Comparing a factory strung trad pocket to one strung by a good stick stringer is like comparing cookies bought off the shelf to cookies made by your grandma. A trad pocket requires TLC to string well. All the companies worry about is how fast they can get them done. The dominating rise in popularity of mesh pockets was a godsend to the companies. It allows them to get their strung sticks out so much faster.

Now as far as hold & release, a good stringer can string it the way you want it. If you want whip, a pita can have whip. If you want a high sweet spot, it can be strung that way. If the stringer knows what he's doing, and you know specifically what you want, then it can be done. That's the underlying beauty of trad and trad varients. Yes it requires more maintainence than mesh, but trad allows for much more fine tuning.

Theres a great comparison of mesh and trad on the florida lax web site. It basically says what ryu says. That traditional is more adjustable but mesh is more constitent and easier to string etc

i personally like hard mesh and do not even want to get close to trad, i live in a part of the country where we can get rain a lot in the spring and to have trad would cause a lot of problems. plus its easy to replace or repair mesh if you need to and the consistency is much better.
