The only thing that would make that stick illegal is if it's combined length of shaft and head are over 48 inches. There are no rules about goalie pockets, and i would recommend hard mesh over soft mesh. If you can, find someone in you area who can string. They could probably get a better pocket for you than buying factory strung (and then you get it unstrung and save some money). And the eclipse is a very good choice.

If you just buy a regular guys attack shaft, then the length will be ok. You cannot use a goalie shaft.

You also will be just under 48 this way. If you want the exact 48 for clearing distance, you have to cough up the extra for a goalie length (you'll have to cut it of course).

yes but it is always better to be just under because some refs are complete jerks about it.

because this is a girl and girl goalies are not allowed to have goalie shafts on their goalie sticks because they are too long. This rule was implemented 4 years ago. The entire stick must be between 36 and 48 inches.

get a nemesis, have someone string it. I feel open sidewalls deaden the bounce a lot better
get a klyte attack shaft, they are cheap light and far more than you need
it'll be perfect

ok well its been a while and i decided to buy a warrior nemesis and i have my 12d mesh from jima....so now im trying to figure out a good cheap shaft for it that is legal with the combined length of the head and that. anyone know how long the nemesis head is?? so i can find a shaft that will be under 48" with overall. and i looked at some Attack or middie sticks they labeled and what measurement are those suppose to be? 30"?

You're basically going to want to buy an attack length shaft, any length will probably work. Most of those will bring you to just about 48", usually a little less. You could buy a goalie shaft and cut it to 48" perfectly, but you would be wasting a lot of material and money for a minimal gain.

ok thx, and any attack shaft would fit on with the nemesis, right?

Yep, depending on what you get, it might be a tight squeeze or a little loose. But all shafts are made to fit all heads (with some minor exceptions that you won't run into). Length wise, as long as you get an attack shaft, it should be right at that 48" mark. I've never heard of someone cutting down an attack length shaft because it was over 48", so I think you'll be fine.

alright, thanks for the help, i decided on a brine ignite attack length shaft and with the head and shipping its $120.85 so thats pretty good.

for beginers in goal i would get a abyss 2.0. i've had it for a season as backup goalie and starting attack. It won't break. it's a perfectly good head. idk why people get all the best stuff. it won't make you play better necesarily. it's the magician not the wand.

if people can afford better stuff then why not get it? it wont improve your skill but every head has its benefits. the eclipse is a very good head and i would reccomend it. By the way taco.. dont talk about getting all the best stuff you have 7sticks. Go with the eclipse aweosme head.

i never said i was a beginner...i like the nemesis because thats the stick ive been using in lax but its not mine, its the schools. I wanted my own stuff so i can practice off season because our coach takes them home. im not buying it to get better, I like the nemesis and Ive tried abyss and i don't like it.
and im not rich, definetly not rich....but i will work and i still got my money from christmas. and i dont have ANY lacrosse stuff besides an old stx fieldstick which was $20 2years ago so I think I can allow myself to get ONE stick and maybe a ball.

here are my favorite heads that i think you should get
gaurdian -- super light great for passing nice save area overmold helps kill ball rattle
sentinal-- super light nice save area short throat
nemmisis-- great head not the lightest but very sturdy and good save area
ive played with a gaurdian and a nemmy and i like the gaurdian the most. lightest and fastest moving head.
and different goalie heads can make you play better a lighter head moves faster than a heavier head does which will make more saves. but if you dont need to buy a great goalie head go with the abyss very afortable

A head does not make a goalie. I've played with a lot of heads on the market and I found the best combination was the shaft and head that felt the best for my playing style. Try something, and if you don't like it sell it.
The gold standards are the eclipse and nemesis. The majority of goalies use either one of these two heads.
If you looking for something affordable try a goalmaster or abyss (basically the same). Very stiff and cheap heads. You can find a goalmaster for 30 dollars.
The sentinal and guardian are debatable. I hate the guardian (some swear by it). I found it was very light, but incredibly flexible on clears and low saves. I don't like feeling flex when I throw.
The sentinal is stiff and light, that's all I know.

Do not buy the guardian. I broke one my senior year of high school and one my freshmen year of college...both from shots....and breaking heads in women's lacrosse is ridiculous. One of the lightest heads on the market if not the lightest. But you have to weigh between weight and strength. I typically play with an eclipse because it's pretty light, but not as breakable.

hey- the nemisis is a good choice but I standy by the sentinel head 100%. (the chest protector is pretty awesome too). As for a shaft, I'd skip and alloy one. In the year I had my first stick the shaft ben to a 30 degree angle b/c I banged the posts too much. Go with a composite shaft- I've got the STX afterburner and theres not a dent or crack yet.
