So my coach is trying to make me a goalie. I'm a freshman and have been playing for 7 years. He said he wants some one fast and someone who he can work with for all 4 years. Me personally would like to atleast try it. But what if this doesn't work out? I'm screwed. Because I loose a year or two of prime years getting noticed by colleges. So my question to you is. Would it be a smart thing to try it out and if I good enough (which I could) try it and ride it too college?

Dude, go for it. I mean, some people take this whole recruiting thing way too far, overanalyzing everything in their high school sports career because of it. It couldn't hurt to step between the pipes...at least not figuratively. And If you're not comfortable with it, let your coach know that hes going to have to find someone else.

You'll probably realize relatively quickly that you don't want to play goalie and/or its not the right position for you.

Also keep in mind that college coaches do like a player who will adapt to fit his team's needs...

Yeah, he just wants someone to "challenge" the back up goalie because our starter is off the college. I wouldn't mind doing it because I picked it up rather quick. And my coach is a goalie him self so he's helped. ALOT

Go for it, I played goalie last year instead of middie and it worked out great. I ended up starting and had a great time. I also got noticed by the Varsity coach because he said "Kenyon, every time I see you you're playing a different position and do good at it, I like that." I was like, "YEAH!"

What about mesh. My friend gave me his nemises and it's got some factory hard. I want a stick with a bag but closed sidewells with minimal rebounds. 12 diamond?

Not only will you get more experience at a different position, if you do go back to middie, attack, or whatever you play, you'll know a little bit about how a goalie thinks, and that will give an edge.

go for it

you know you wanna join the cult haha

def go with the nemi for a head (even tho it seems like everyone is using an eclipse...they are just to flexible / weak haha) i like 10d mostly for closed sidewall bags but 12d works too

Per my experience, I encourage you to try because I've done the same thing. I played attack last year in 8th grade but got hurt so I switched to goalie. Only problem for me is I'm not getting that much playing time, and I feel like I'd do the team a lot more good if I went back to attack. O yeah, and 12d is the way to go.
