View Full Version : Coolest Lizard I Have Ever Seen In My Yard

so, im looking out the window and see this huge thing on my tree...it turns it head and looks at me and i see its an abnormally sized and weird looking lizard. so being me i run and get the camera and take some pics, then proceed to try touch it but it jumped into the bushes. anyways, it was about 1.5 feet long. can anyone possibly identify what it is??

Wow thats crazy, it looks amphibious. 1.5 feet long that thing must have been huge. I have no idea what kind it is though.

it could be the jesus lizard...i think thats wut its called. but anyway, the jesus lizard can run on water and kinda looks like that so it could possibly be the jesus lizard.

It is called the Christ Lizard or also known as a Basilisk.
I watch the Discovery Channel too much.

I think Florida. My friend had a lizard like that, until it got loose his backyard and ran away. It got scared very easy.

it is called a basilisk....jesus lizard is a nickname it acquired...yea i live in south florida...idk how the hell it got here but whatever...yea the pics are really nice, its my moms camera and those pics were on 24x zoom, i was a good 10-15 feet away from that sucker taking the pics
