Well with all the acquisitions they have made during the off-season I'd have to say this makes them the clear cut favorite to win the Super Bowl. Moss finally has a good QB to give him the ball, and with Maroney and Dillion. Pretty solid.

ya look at what brady did last yr with no help on offense in terms of receivers. he now has a amazing deep threat in randy mass and donte stallworth who could be the #1 receiver on many teams..... i am huge jets fan but i must say... i am scared

They don't have Troy Brown anymore. They went their separate ways, which I think the Pats are idiots for. He made a ton of sacrifices for them while he was there.

I think Moss is going to help. But watching him last year in Oakland, I was not impressed.

they are not the clear cut favorites to win the superbowl. yes they have better chances now especially since they are in one of the worst divisions but they are not clear cut

i dont think the patriots will win the super bowl, its too early to tell. im shocked that brady quinn was chosen so low in the draft, he is probably the most nfl ready qb in the draft.
my redskins picked up a huge key for success with safety laron landry to be Sean Taylors counterpart. our d is looking good this year!!

pats are clear cut
so many aquistions...an already dominating defence plus they go adalius thomas...i think this is a bigger pick up then randy moss bye far...cant win if you cant score...and it is going to be very tough to score on this team...laurence maroney proved he is capable...now he will get alot bigger work load...tom brady is dangerous with NO reicevers...now whatt...also...no glaring holes on the o-line...reche caldwell is still there...he is good aswell...jabar gaffney also at wide out...kelly washington at wide out is another big signing...major depth at wideout, ...rosevelt colvin, tedy bruschi, adlaius thomas at linebacker, mike vrabel (adlius will also play some rush end, one of the best athletes and sooooo versatile....will be interesting and scary to see what he will do when this kind of raw versatile talent meets the patriots defensive schemes and in depth planning)
SO A TEAM THAT WENT 12-4 UPGRADED THIS MUCH...DEADLY...LOOK OUT NFL.

I dont get how you all can say that, besides the fact that you areall from new england. I get your just rooting for your favorite team but common.
San Diego
Chicago
New Orleans
Colts
Seattle
all teams which are just as good and some better at certain parts of the game
im from canada....and im a philly/new orleans fan.... good try though...
new orleans got good to...nice pcik in meachem....adds major depth to there offence again...however...like the colts...it will be a fw years when all you have is offense...but they are a very young stacked club.

Chargers will be alright, I think Moss should be happy. He's not like Terrell Owens.

Considering he gave up half his salary to play for the Patriots, I doubt hes going to be like TO at all.

Chicago - Terrible offense, as we witnessed all of last season. Rex Grossman is a bust.

Agree with all of your analysis on the other teams except Chicago. Statistically speaking, Chicago was the second highest scoring teams in the NFL last season (yes I know some of that came from special teams and D, but that still counts as points) and middle of the road as far as YPG, So I don't think you could call it a "terrible" offense by any stretch of the imagination. With the addition of TE Olsen from Miami, I would say that the Bears offense could become alot more dangerous, especially with Grossman, who likes to throw to TE's. 2 TE sets that show run, and opposing defenses will have a tough time stopping them.
As for Grossman himself, well he certainly was all over the map as far as his performance went, but also had more games with QB ratings over 100 than anyone else in the league all season. Is he a bust? Impossible to say at this point. He certainly stunk it up in the SB, but it was the guy's first full (healthy) season under center, so I think you can't quite throw him out yet. This is the last year of his contract, so we'll have to see.

If Benson can stay healthy, they'll be fine, as he averaged the exact same yards per carry as TJ did, and had the same number of TD's. Add in Adrian Peterson (who is vastly underrated and now will have his shot) and the new tailback from NIU (who can also catch very well), and they should be in good shape with the running game. With Olsen, the passing game will have more weapons, which should make them a pretty balanced team, offensively. I'm more concerned, quite frankly, with their defensive tackle position, and the situation at linebacker with Briggs. Tommie Harris is coming off a significant hammy injury, and Tank Johnson will likely be suspended for half the season. This could be a season where the offense is more consistent than the D...

I'm not sure I get the argument that Benson has never carried the full load before. Why does that matter? When he's in he does great, and seems to get stronger the more carries he gets. He carried the full load at Texas, so I'm not sure why people say that he can't handle it in the NFL. I think Wolfe will surprise people - no he may not be the next Jones-Drew, but he had an outstanding college career, and will be a good change of pace guy.
As for Grossman's execution, again - he was up and down, but he was essentially a rookie, so I'll reserve judgement on him till midway through the season.

ok for one thing, i would really love to see what Randy Moss can do. I never got to see him because i was never into football in his Minnesota days. but he was a bum in Oakland. I would love to see him play amazing with Tom Brady throwing to him. I would love to see the Pats in general. I can see them playing in the superbowl and winning. They did so good in the offseason.
