Hey who here is gonna be playing the halo 3 beta? If anyone is wondering when it's coming out it's coming out may 16th. I say we should have a TLF match for those of you who are gonna get the beta

halo 2 is coming out soon for vista, with new maps and improved graphics. Looks pretty good, but playing multiplayer on a PC is just annoying because of the severe lag.

even if it is just a beta, it's pretty damn sweet. My thought is that this was a planned leak by bungie.

I have a question..once the beta starts on the 16th..are people still going to be able to play it if they havent already registered with it using Crackdown or w.e? cause im not getting my 360 for like a few days and i dont know if Ill have my live on yet..basically im asking..if I dont get crackdown before the 16th am I still gonna be able to play the beta?

Bumping this up. The Halo 3 Beta is coming out in less than 5 hours, I was going to download it but why I am not bothering now is because...

When I tried to download the Crackdown demo so many people were trying to get it that the download wouldn't work for a few hours (like it couldn't be downloaded).

So by guessing the turnout for the Beta will be much larger I am not going to even bother trying to get it until after school.

But yeah, the Halo 3 Beta will not allow matches to be set-up. It is going to be like the Lost Planet Multiplayer Demo where the game will just put you into a random match. So giving out gamertags is useless.

On Crackdown, when you highlight the option, "Download Halo 3 Beta," it says "Check back here at a later date to download the Halo 3 Beta." Very disappointing.

noooooo no no. I checked online and bungie said its not working because they took it down momentarily to fix bugs. Makes no sense since anyone who got the beta not through crackdown is able to play the beta

Its really fun but graphics...

They look like enhanced Halo 2 graphics, I know it is the beta but they better improve them a lot.

The weapons are good. The Spartan laser is okay, its deadly if you get a shot off on someone other wise it is hard to use. The laser allows the other player to know if they are being targeted and because it is manual aim (I think) it is hard to aim.

I am very happy that they have the MA5C Assault Rifle in the game, it holds less round than the MA5B Assault Rifle (Halo) but it does inflict more damage.

The UNSC Missile Pod is pretty cool, but it is way harder to carry around the the rocket launcher. But you can shoot off way more rounds at a vehicle then the rocket launcher can.

The Brute spike grenade is one of my favorites, it can be stuck into walls and it can kill enemies if it hits them in the head.

The beta is full of jaggies, I am running it on 1080i and it is full of jaggies and I also tried 720p, still has jaggies.

Its true they can't make them near perfect but the graphics are still not that good.

And to answer your question about me being satisfied, once there are no jaggies when I run it in 1080i then I will be happy.

Beta is AMAZING. The Spartan lazer or w/e is NASTY. Over all the graphics weren't that great but the game play was AMAZING

i saw this new thing that could fix your problem you can plug your mouse and keyboard to the 360 and play that way and make your moniter your t.v. i think you can do that, which if your not good with a controller thats the way to go if you good with your comp and want to use it.

Or you could have gotten Crackdown (which is also a good game) and had a backup plan.

you could still buy crackdown. My friend found a specially marked one the day after the beta started. So start searching! :thumbsup:

Pretty sweet game. I'd have to agree with the graphics needing work, but this isn't a release version, so I'm not that worried. The laser cannon is absolutely nasty. Also the environments are a lot more realistic. I love how grenades don't bounce or anything on the snow level. Sniping seems to have gone back to Halo 1 a little bit, which is great. Anything not Halo 2 is good. No hard level boundaries on the snow level at least, you just get killed by the guardians. Super stoked for this to come out.
