Hey Guys,
Ok i was wondering if you can take an outdoor cat and turn it into an indoor cat. Im getting a cat from my friend and he lets the cat outside about 2 times a day, but my mom said when we get the cat she just wants the cat to stay inside...dont ask me why i have no clue. So do cats just adjust that easy to staying inside all day or is it not a good idea???

i used to let mine go outside. it like the outside. indoor cats are annoying and lazy. an outdoor cat is fun and kind of exotic.

shouldnt be a problem. i got a cat that was an outdoor cat and we kept it indoors. the first few weeks if a doors left open for awhile it'll try and go out, but usually comes back. Now my cat is at the point where we can leave the door wide open and she'll just sit there because she likes the fresh air. leaving windows open helps too.

Our cat used to go out and stay our all day, sometimes for days at a time. We just got new furniture though so we had it declawed so it wouldn't tear it up. Now he can't go outside. He gets a little whiny sometimes and makes wierd noises while standing at the door, but other than that, it's not too bad.

Depends if it is a boy or girl cat and if it is fixed or not. Either way you still may have a problem with the cat "marking his/her territory" and not always using the litter box. Especially, if it is an unfixed male.
