why do refs check the players cleats sometimes i dont see how it would change anything

They are checking if you have metal studs under you cleats.

I'm assuming metal studs are illegal because they are sharp and in a sport like lacrosse their are times (ei. groundballs) where you get cleated now and then, and metal cuts deep and can leave an infection

haha good one, but I just say that because a lot of the kids on my school team have metal cleats.

Reading the FAQ it says I cant wear a 3/4 cleat... ooops, good thing we dont get checked.

In some rugby leagues metal cleats are mandatory because they're safer. Strange, huh?

i have metal tips and i was checked 4 times this season and everything was fine, so i assume this is pertaining to all metal spikes

in some county baseball leauges and MIAA high school varsity league (in Maryland) metal are allowed
