Ball stop

so i got my stick checked during my game today it was all fine except the ref said i needed a ballstop... no penalty called just i couldnt play with the stick anymore? so i made one out of medical tape and gauze.. is this ok now?

is what ok? you need a ball stop of either tape or something that stays on there

I have seen some made purely out of duct tape and they have passed stick checks. Something within reason should be there in place of the ball stop. Tape and gauze sounds fine.

technically, anything where the ballstop should be is a ballstop, since the rules say you need a ballstop, but they dont specify what a ballstop is
