Hey, i went out to my whole states only lax store and bought some leather and some crosslace. It has black leathers with yellow crosslace. I used the basic traditional tutorial to strin gmy evo. This was my first traditional so tell me how i did.

You interlocked wrong in about half of it. On the left side you should worry about if it is even not where it goes on the sidewall. I don't even know what happened on the top.
How many strings did you use? You should only need one.

instead of doing so many diamonds, make fewer. Should be like 8 counting from the top down. your diamonds are too small/close together.

You should start posting thumbnails. Yes, you interlocked wrong. See Talent223's tutorial on how to do it right. Also you don't need that many diamond things.

thanks guys, i used one string about 20 feet to start, and when i fix this on i will change it to have fewer diamonds. I used talent's tutorial to know how to interlock, the reason i think that they look wrong is because ont he first leather i went either under the leather or over but for the the second i went the opposite of the first and so on so they look wierd. Am i right?

After taking a close look at, I really can't find any incorrect knots. They're extremely loose and look like they're interlocked wrong (you can see the X's forming), but when you look at them closely, it's really not the case. Also did do that whole thing you just described, but that's not really interlocking wrong. I did notice on some of the knots you go back around your crosslace wrong, specifically the 8th and 9th knots from the top on the third leather from the left.

The whole pocket is really just too loose for a traditional stringing, but it's a solid attempt for your first try. I'd unstring it all and carefully look at some of the trad stringings around here for a better understanding of what to do. Also it's always nice to look at something that's real and right in front of you, so if someone else has a trad on their stick, see if you can borrow it to mirror what they have. Just try to clean it up I guess.

Ya, no one on my team has traditional stringing as lax has only been around my school for a year. Most of the guys cant string sticks. Im fairly good at stringing mesh but traditional was so odd. If i make the corrections you guys told me, in what ways will it make the stick better? It throws fine and has excellent hold, will it get even better hold and better release?

Also how should i do my shooters, like what works best? On mesh i do two straight and a V.

yeah and you should have the diamonds all about the same size, just they ca be more spread out to separate the leathers where you want the pocket
